So Dr. Facepunch I need To Gain Weight [Halp Bodybuilders?]

Well I'm in quite a predicament, You see I play American Football and I weightlift a lot for the sport. My metabolism really works against me, I've been lifting for about 5 months now and I have gained about a pound out of all of it. I was wondering if any of you hardcore people at facepunch knew some ways to gain weight.
I eat about 6,000 calories a day, so it isn't like i don't eat enough. My instructor gave me a weight gaining packet that he got from Michigan state and I've been following that but it hasn't seemed to do much at all. I always eat breakfast, lunch and dinner alone with a few snacks in between, I'm about 5'8 and 143 pounds (64.8 Kilograms) and I have an extremely fast metabolism, I eat almost every time I get slightly hungry.
Would things like protein powders and such help out? I'm completely lost as what else I could try. I'd like to gain around 10 pounds.
Six thousand calories? Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.
I eat about 4 000 - 4 500. I'm ~6'4" and ~15 stone.
Some people just can't put on weight. Your metabolism is probably too fast.
I eat cookie dough and drink energy drinks for snacks, and pizza pops as the main course while playing css all day. According to my past 4 years of this, this is not a valid way of putting on weight. I am however probably successfully slowly killing myself.
hi i'm trogdon
i am 5'11" and I weigh approximately 113 pounds
I lead a normal life. Most people think that I don't, but I really do. I eat like regular people, I exercise like regular people, i poop like regular people. I even go to school, with the rest of the regular kids. I also had a high calorie diet intake. My problem was that I wasn't gaining weight from my food because my metabolism was too high. So I had to do something, and fast. So I did fast. I didn't eat for like a couple hours, it was because i had to get this tooth pulled. I got it pulled, and now look at me, a regular guy. It's safe to say my problem was solved.
So yes OP, if you use protein powder you should be able to gain weight, weights taped to your stomach are an alternate solution.
What's your weight lifting routine and what do you eat? As in nutrition, specifically what food you eat, not calories.
In case you're wondering why my calorie intake is so high, if you've ever lifted regularly you'll know that you're almost constantly hungry, and I'm also starting track so I run to go along with that.
I lift and run three days a week, mondays are upper body, wendsday are shoulders and legs, and friday is a mix of them both. I eat a lot of meat, fast food, junk food, juice, home cooked meals almost everynight, I cant drink milk at all though because it tastes so bad I instantly puke, so to deal with calcium I take vitamins. I'm Italian so I eat a lot of breads and pastas, the home cooked meals usually involve chicken, beef, or fish of some sort, I'd say my diet is somewhat balanced.
I did conditioning and strength training with my high school football team last year and so I know exactly what you're going through. I'm 5'9" and was 190lbs but I never had a problem putting on weight (I actually lost 120lbs; I used to be 300lbs). Throughout the whole training season of about 6 months I did not gain a pound, I actually lost about 5-10lbs to bring me to current weight of 180lbs. I don't see how its humanly possible to shove more than 6,000 calories in your mouth a day, you must be sick of eating so much...last year I was taking in around 2,500 calories a day but I still got stronger because my metabolism isn't necessarily fast. I've heard that eating more frequently raises more metabolism, so maybe you could try just eating 3 or 4 really huge meals a day to get your calories but also keep your metabolism down. I would also try taking protein bar/shakes though too.
Edit: What type of running do you do? Anything other than sprints is only going to hurt you.
Eat a lot of butter, and don't move for hours at a time, I guess you can use the computer while you don't move and eat butter. As a preventive measure, start putting acne cream on, even if you don;t have acne, due to the butter.
Eat bigger meals less frequently.
Consisting primarily of meat and wheat products.
Eat at mcdonalds that will help
Eat big, Lift big. Buy a tub of Weight Gainer, each serving has 2000+ Calories, so you'll be intaking around 8000 Calories per day which is more then enough to help you gain the extra Weight.
hi i'm chest rockwell
i am 5'11" and I weigh approximately 200 pounds
I lead a relatively normal life. Most people think that I don't, but I really do. I eat like incredibly fat samoan people, I exercise like a motherfucker who's lazy, and i poop like no other(Champion BattleShitter). I even go to school, with the rest of the regular kids. I also have a very high calorie diet intake. My problem was that I wasn't gaining weight from my food becauseI WASN'T EATING AS MUCH AS I THOUGHT I WAS EATING OR GETTING ENOUGH REST. Brah, I gurantee you that you aren't eating enoough, or lifting hard enough, or getting enough rest. Go check out the teen bodybuilding forums.
I have a 4 day split, of upper body, lower body, upper, lower, mon-fri, weds off. My bench has gone up 20lbs since wrestling season, my squats skyrocketed and my powercleans the highest for the freshmen. Feels good man, and I credit a lot of that to shit I learned on the bb.com forums.
I'm 6'3" and 165 lbs. I'm trying to get to about 175 to 180. When I started working out I was at 150 so I've made some progress. I've basically been taking creatine and eating 2 20g of protein protein bars after every workout, which i do 3 times a week. I have steadily gotten stronger too, when I started I could only curl 20 lbs on each arm, now I'm at 40 lbs each arm. It has taken me about 5 months to get here though, mostly because for about 3 months I was working full time and had no time to work out :P

Eat more fast food and things like that.
Oh yeah and if you don't squat, powerclean, deadlift, ect your a pussy. Powercleaning and squatting got me jumping and running so much higher and faster, and I wasn't slow at all to begin with.
I've been about 125 for 2-3 years. I've been lifting weights 4 times a week (30min+) for 2 years. It sucks.

I've never noticed any noticeable improvement from powercleaning and deadlifting.
I run sprints in track, I'm a running back in football. I do squats (180 is normal weight for me) and I deadlift 275, We also have leg press machines bench press shoulder press, it's a pretty nice gym atm
Eat lard evrry day.

Same for me.
I do no sport at all, play pc ALL DAY LONG and when im not on the pc, im at school on the pc working or something else that doesnt requires physical strength.
I eat alot sometimes, enough to almost make me throw up from over feeding myself, and yet I dont feel heavy, I dont gain weight or anything. I dont know why either.
However, I do take a shit almost every day and fart alot :v:

[editline]06:43AM[/editline]
also op step up your weights
If you can eat 6k calories each day and not be a total fatass stop bitching because you have it pretty good.
Mate, just have patience.
Lots of patience.
Did you really think you'd be able to get ripped in a year ?
Maybe some sort of signs of athlethic stature, but nothing else, really.
Have patience, and hold on. Seriously, hold on.
It WILL pay off one day :)

You'd think so, but being too skinny has a lot of downfalls, also. Just because you're not fat, doesn't mean life is easy.
Have you been doing the same routine for the past 5 months ?
Then its about time you confuse your muscles. huh what ?
Well your muscles adjust to your workout they get used to your exercises etc.
Trying variating in your sets/Exercises.
To Grow:
Proper nutrition: got a schedule for eating ? i just see 3 eat moments. beter to devide them in 6 over the day.
Rest: You barley give your legs any rest at all! also you are 5 months in and stil doing a full body work out. Time to get a new schedule. ( Confuse those fucker muscles )
Perfect form: Its very hard to do exercise correct! beter lift a little less and maintain perfect form, then lift heavy and look like a tard and train nothing
Have you been doing your: squats and deadlifts ? doings those exercises will increase your testerone and make you grow faster.
Monday: Upperbody ( Shoulders, upper back, Biceps, Triceps, Shoulders, Lowerback)
Wednesday: Shoulders, legs ? ( give your shoulders some rest, you wont be able to go full out here )
Friday: Both Combined ( how the fuck would you be able to train legs again, let alone run ? your legs should stil be dead on friday if Wednesday was a proper leg workout )
go for something like this:
More time to foccus on one muscle group: More exercises to do!
Monday: Chest/Bicep ( run )
Wednesday: Calvs/tricep/back
Friday: legs/shoulders
Ps: Fuck the machines, Irons make's you stronger. Tobad you are a ectomorph though :( sucks being a hardgainer
List your eat+Training schedule plox. ( exercises for each muscle group eating moments and what you eat each moment ) Might be able to help you out :)
eat shit and die
I drink muscle milk. Gained 13 pounds in a week with exercise.
13 pounds of fat or muscle ? both very unlikely. Rather impossible
hard to believe. Not possible to gain 13 pounds of muscle in one week. since that aint possible.
You must have gained alot of fat. Witch 13 pounds is also impossible to gain
eh i also weighed myself after i ate so i cheated so maybe around at least 5 pounds of muscle and like 6 pounds of fat or some shit. All i know is i gained the weight.
