Majority of metal bands sound like this.
That's a good thing.
It's funny that how much you listen to a genre of music defines what you hear in the songs. Before I got into folk metal, I listened to this once and it sounded rather terrible. Now I'm a pretty big fan of folk metal and it sounds awesome. :v:
how about progressive punk?

Well, I have to agree with the guy.It all sounds the same to me as well, but that's probably because I don't listen to this genre very often. Anyway, everyone has different musical tastes.

The folk instruments in this song make it easily discernible from all the nu-metal and metalcore you hear on satellite radio. I don't see how it could sound the same, even to someone not familiar with the genre.

The folk instruments are really the only difference I can spot, and they are not present throughout the entire song. All I hear are indiscernible lyrics and notes smashed together violently, the folk instruments are only a minor part in the song.
