Everytime a sliding door opened, I fucking lost it.
I've never done a spittake before. 1:05 changed that.

There is definitely something precious about the thought of "taking a tripmine like a champ"
"Hey Calhoun!" *BOOM* ... "Have a good one Calhoun!"
Holy shit, at 0:45 Gordon clearly looks like Ice Cube

Otis confirmed beta
Half-Life ended without even starting
I feel like playing Half-Life again. Need more explosions.
There's a definite lack of gibs in the new source games, except TF2. I wonder why.
There's a definite lack of gibs in the new source games, except TF2. I wonder why.
My guess is that gibbing was a base goldsrc feature, since it was heavily based on the Quake engine, and it's coding was removed in the development of Source. Not only that, but Valve probably felt HL2 didn't need gibbing, since they were trying to go towards a ore realistic approach than HL1, or they wanted to showcase the ragdoll physics or something like that. It's probably the first tho, many of the source games try to make things realistic, so gibbing would have to be a full dismemberment system to make it look like so, and that's kinda complex to get it right, so I guess people just don't find it worth the trouble.
That burn at the end holy shit
How does this game continue to put out content 17 years later.
Wow Barney was an asshole :v:
I can see why he owed Gordon a beer.
And still owes him one.
I thought he made up for that by preventing you from being killed in an interrogation room.

It was primarily used in HL2 for when props like crates or computers broke apart. I believe TF2 gibbing uses the same system, but I haven't checked that in a while.
Its lack of presence on opponents in HL2 really is just a lets-show-off-ragdolls thing.
Normal enemy gibs did appear in HL2 iirc, but only if they died to barnacles.

I don't think barnacles gib ragdolls in HL2 but they do vomit out a few bones when killed
I might be wrong though, I rarely got enemies to walk into them

Yeah the ragdolls just get sucked up into the barnacle and disappear. IIRC the bones that get spat out afterwards aren't gibs, but actual physics props.
Fun fact: this thread has more views than the video itself.
I don't know how that works.

A lot of people come to the thread to see what is it about then decide to not watch the video, probably.

IIRC views on an embedded video don't count.

That's actually pretty bullshit.
