So think about the progress we've made in the last 100 years.
just to name a few: We can make VIRTUAL WORLDS! that's right, VIRTUAL WORLDS on computers. We have the internet, people around the world can communicate and share photos, movies, etc. We made the CERN, learning more about how the universe came to be. Atheism has had a huge upspring, people being FREE THINKERS!

Makes sense. But for some reason I still don't call it a Golden Age, we are failing very hard also. Oil problems, inflation, war, pollution, depletion of Ozone, slender man etc etc.

Golden age? What, when, and where? I don't see El Dorado. We have televisions, which fill ears and eyes with marketing ploys. Mechanical thinking that spews out Wal-Marts and corporate "entities" with no face to be seen. Tools, toys, furniture, and cars made of particle board and plastic veneer and parts broken and obsolete as soon as you open the box. Progress is the mass illusion, and it breaks the backs it climbs upon to reach a goal of "happiness" where people are impersonal, to be fixed until death regardless of cost, dignity, or pride.

I agree. I don't get a feeling of a "golden age" unless I'm hiking in the woods or doing something else that gets me away from society.

and why is that? Think openly for a second, hypothetically believe that there is no god. Now think about how ridiculous it is for people to believe ideas from 2000 years ago with NO evidence. Think about how they get you to believe, FEAR. the fear that you'll go to hell.
