I have never really tried out one, but I have a couple of friends using a blackberry. But this forum seems to hate it so much. I simply don't understand why. Isn't it a phone for people who just want a simple phone, being able to text, read emails, browse the web, and that's about it? And I've seen lots of people using them, mostly businessmen. Doesn't that means its catered to businessmen?

I have one, and yes you're right. It's a simple phone made easy and practical to write with as well as catering for those not bothered with the latest and greatest touch screen phones.
I'm getting sick and tired of my touchscreen phone, and I text alot.

Blackberrys piss me off because of the damn noises that people don't turn off and that when people get them they seem to suddenly get infected with this odd disease that makes them unable to put them down and leave them alone.
The only reason i use a blackberry is because of the blackberry messenger, basically its like MSN but you're always online as long as your blackberry is active. Its pretty useful but that's about the only good thing about blackberries, other than that its a shit phone.

Agreed; the only thing that makes them popular among youth in Britain today is the messenger app apparently.
Unless you have a large number of friends who also have Blackberrys, they're pretty much sub par.
I used to have one for work, but I found it annoying not having an excuse for being unreachable.
It was a pretty good phone and I'll probably get myself a personal one (one that I won't let my boss forward emails to).
I can't be bothered with touch-screens, I like buttons.
I got a beat up old Nokia that makes phonecalls and sends texts. I've used the camera on it maybe twice to send pics of my boobs but other than that I don't need to clutter my life with crap I don't need.
Tech's can be nice, ocelating vibrators and lcd tv's are a yes, cow tossing apps are a total waste of time.

It's a primitive piece of shit that has the functionality of a phone from the early 2000's.
The fact of the matter is it doesn't do anything innovative or forward thinking but draws upon the worst aspects of phone past.
Most of all they're ugly as fuck

I have one, theyre good to use in principal but theres so many frustrating aspects of them I hate.
I had the Blackberry Bold 9000. Had it for about 4 months, never dropped the thing once. It's now broken and unfixable. That is what makes Blackberry suck.

I have had both a Blackberry and multiple touch phones including an iPhone. Blackberry has been having some of network problems recently but the functionality of the phone is superior to most others available.
When BBX (or what now has to be referred to as "blackberry os 10") gets released it will take everything over.

Tempted to get a blackberry after leaving my Motorola Defy on the underground, definitely a coin toss between Swype and Qwerty for me though. The only thing that bothers me is the amount of people who mid-conversation just whip out their blackberry and text as fast as they can so they think it doesn't affect the conversation.
I've been using my friend's old Curve since my MotoDroid stopped working unexpectedly a few months ago, and until I get my new phone. It's not too bad, I really like BBM but that's the only thing really going for it. Excited to upgrade to the Razr or Nexus Prime.
I love my blackberry. It's perfect for me! The only thing I need my phone for is making calls, texting, and checking emails. Having a full keyboard gives it a huge leg-up on the touchscreen phones. I just can't operate those touchscreen keyboards without botching everything up, whereas I could pound out short essays on my blackberry almost as fast as I could with a regular keyboard, if I so wanted to.
Touchscreen phones are neat and everything, they're just not what I'm looking for in a phone.
They're pretty good, people just like to whine and jump on bandwagons.
I've never had a smartphone a day in my life. I have an LG Cosmos right now and it's complete shit, I press my A key and it will do shit like this

I only touched it once and it gives me multiple A's or it doesn't even type it at all.
I wish I had a smartphone.
