It's about damn time he played it.
It's not a bear, it's a rabbit!
Can someone explain what you actually do in this game? In all the gameplay I've seen, you're just watching cameras. What do you actually do though?
Can someone explain what you actually do in this game? In all the gameplay I've seen, you're just watching cameras. What do you actually do though?
jump scares
Can someone explain what you actually do in this game? In all the gameplay I've seen, you're just watching cameras. Your shitty ass employer only gives you a limited amount of power per night and you basically have to protect yourself from getting thrown into an animatronic suit.
I cant stop laughing when he keeps toying with bonnie
It's not a bear, it's a rabbit!
Are you real [editline]26th August 2014[/editline]
Can someone explain what you actually do in this game? Two robots always creep up towards the room until they can come in, another one waits in the same room and barges in instantly if you don't pay attention to his room, the last one is inactive for the first three days then exploits your weaknesses and habits on days four, five and six to fuck you over. The latter robot will also kill you if you run out of power, but you can save time by standing completely still and not touching the mouse. Ultimately, your goal is to survive for 6 ingame hours, so roughly 8 real minutes.
That story though.
It's the only game where jumpscares are acceptable.
this is what all the fuss is about? wow cr1tikal quality as always though
Are you real
Yes, I know it's shocking but it is definitely a rabbit.
finally
This game really got a lot more attention than it deserved.
This game really got a lot more attention than it deserved.
it's because of furries making fanart no joke
Can someone explain what you actually do in this game? In all the gameplay I've seen, you're just watching cameras. What do you actually do though?
it's a tense game of red-light, green-light
jump scares
Goddammit I'm sick of hearing this shit you only get the jump scares when you die, it's not the game's main method of scaring you
the jump scares are what've stopped me from taking any interest in this game at all even if they're not the main point, they're unpleasantly startling, cheap and don't really add to the cool-creepy effect, if you can't generate fear without having to rely on the player fearing the arrival of a jump scare you're probably doing horror wrong

They're not even really jumpscares. They're all predictable AND they're all the result of you fucking up, so it's not cheap. Besides, the entire game is oppressing and scary as fuck, it has an amazing tense atmosphere even though you can't move at all.
Goddammit I'm sick of hearing this shit you only get the jump scares when you die, it's not the game's main method of scaring you
It's not scary, sorry.
Everyone called me dumb in the thread when I said it wasn't very scary. Everyone was hyping it up saying shit like "scariest game since amnesia" and "scariest game evar" which naturally had me pretty excited to play it. It's pretty creepy, but as scary as Amnesia? Please. Not to mention I don't think I'm internet cool enough to understand why everyone thinks that animations are so scary.
it's a tense game of red-light, green-light
Also there's a resource management aspect. You have a limited amount of power each night, and every action you take (looking at cameras, turning on the lights in your camera blind spots, shutting the doors) eats away at the power; if you just lock the doors you'll run out of power quick and be screwed. I can't find it on Desura or Steam.
Can someone explain what you actually do in this game?
you press buttons to avoid jump"scares" for about an hour, as seen in the video most hyped best game 2014 unique graphics only reason it's still alive for more than a day of its release is
it's because of furries making fanart no joke
and hundreds of streamers and youtubers pretending to be so scared http://www.steamcharts.com/app/319510 nobody even plays this game
this game is as scary as critical is funny
this game is as scary as critical is funny
I can't tell if that's a compliment or an insult
This game really got a lot more attention than it deserved.
Got attention because it appeals to people. Even weird people.
I wish horror games would be free from this "it's not scary, it's shit" stigma caused by everybody's need to feel superior to the likes of pewdiepie. Whereas youtubers fake their emotions, different people fear different things and none of you are in position to declare what others can and can not find scary. Jumpscares in Freddy's don't scare me in the slightest, it's the tension and subtle changes to the environment that make me nervous when playing it. It's a short, cheap game that is very effective in what it does, it might not deserve such enormous popularity but it's not bad at all.
Like the concept is kinda cool and the animatronics could be creepy but you don't move. Like same setting but you need to check a fuse box or you need to clear rats and it's just tense and they follow you around without you ever seeing them move
