Corpse sex fetish inmate gets 45 years for death threats
A "dangerous" prisoner who wrote letters threatening to kill people and have sex with their corpses has been jailed for 45 years.
Richard Ford, 38, was serving a 30-month sentence for possessing a knife when he made the threats from his cell.
A judge passed the "highly unusual" sentence after hearing of Ford's fear he would enact his "sadistic urges".
He acknowledged the term "may be controversial" but said it was necessary to protect the public.
Ford, who has spent most of the last 14 years in jail, was being held at HMP Nottingham last January when he passed a series of notes to prison officers containing a list of potential victims.
Guy sounds like a piece of shit but 45 years for threats seems to set a dangerous precedent.
-I should pay more attention-
45 years for saying you'll do something?
I mean the threat is fucked up but getting 45 years for it is also fucked up.
Read the article. The guy asked the judge to never be released.

It's a grand total of 45 years across several 9 year sentences. Basically, the max sentence for threats of this nature is 10 years, but he made 5 of them.
It also quotes in the article that the dude fully admits that, were he a free man, he couldn't contain the urge to kill the people he mentioned and fuck their corpses. So yeah, there's that.

Oh woops.
Okay makes a bit more sense then.
Atleast the dude recognises that he has a problem and wanted to do something about it.
Sounds like the judge was in an awkward position as he was unable to make a hospital order.
It's a bizarre sentence but if he's to be taken for his word then there's nothing else to be done.
i don't think these sorts of people belong in prison

Still.. Are you suggesting we start taking advice on administering justice from a corpse-fucking psychopath ?

If you're a judge and someone is asking you to lengthen their sentence thanks to their knowing that they will kill people to fuck their corpses, why not lengthen the sentence? If you refuse, there might be blood on your hands for when he goes free and kills people to fuck their corpses like he said he would do.
Well dude asked for it and got what he wanted. Sorta like the last 2 dudes executed in my state asked for the death penalty and welp they got what they wanted. :v:

because "bbbb-but rehabilitation!" isn't something that happens when you magically snap your fingers
I said, "I will fucking kill you" not "I will fuck 'n' kill you".

Are you suggesting we shouldn't take threats made to kill and fuck corpses by a convicted prisoner seriously?
He didn't go through with it, he's lucid enough in his insanity to know his twisted compulsions are wrong, it's honestly the best outcome possible other than an appeal to transfer him to institutionalisation for life in a psych facility.
