Part of me just thinks they're a bit too young to be worrying about politics, but I know it's also important that they learn about politics and foreign affairs in an appropriate manner.

Like the similarity between the two is that the both of them just seem very painfully orchestrated.

They should be slowly informed about politics in elementary school, and in High School, they should be taught about voting, how the electoral system works, etc, all throughout high-school because it's ridiculous how many young adults ignore voting, and politics in general.
Here in Canada, we almost never talked about politics in elementary, and in High School everyone has to take a course that's a mix of both politics, as well as your future career-based stuff, so it isn't very effective. If I hadn't taken the courses I decided on in the last years of it, I probably would have ignored politics as well but thankfully, I decided to take a few courses based on current world issues, and other things like that.
