HOUSTON (AP) — A Texas plumber is suing a truck dealer after a vehicle emblazoned with his company's name and phone number — and carrying gun-toting fighters — appeared in a photo circulated by purported Islamic extremists. Mark Oberholtzer filed the lawsuit against Charlie Thomas Ford Ltd., of Houston, last Wednesday. Oberholtzer wants more than $1 million to cover the damage to his company, Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, since the photo was circulated on social media in 2014. Oberholtzer says he's received death threats and over 1,000 phone calls since the photo appeared online. The lawsuit says the dealer didn't remove the Mark-1 decals as promised before shipping the vehicle to Turkey. The dealer didn't return a call seeking comment Monday.
http://bigstory.ap.org/9969ae51c65f4d038e6c3fff8d7ef9c0 [t]http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/galvnews.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/7/cb/7cb3fb74-8558-11e4-9f70-df31e81595a0/5490869a95954.image.jpg?resize=760%2C507[/t]
Well they failed to do as contracted and he suffered damages. Makes sense.
Any press is good press. Right? That's a fair lawsuit though.
The Turkish ship the cars right out to ISIS.
I think I said this last time this image circulated here but it's so weird seeing familiar, modern vehicles being used by extremists on the other side of the planet. Especially considering I may have seen this exact truck before while it was in the US.
Either I am having a strange case of deja vu, or this is just pretty silly. Could have sworn this was posted before. Though, unless the plumber suffered direct damages, I don't see any reason why this sue should go anywhere. [EDIT] I'd much to see a link from where this is pulled.
Death threats over a a decal? How fucking retarded can you be?
This is huffpo but it was still posted almost exactly a year ago: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12/17/texas-plumber-work-truck-syria-terrorists_n_6341070.html Now to OP's credit it seems a shitload of news stations seem to be unable to fact check and see that this was posted a year ago, but you know it doesn't surprise me.
They probably knew it was posted a year ago, they're just re-running the story because ISIS is something more people know about due to recent events.
They probably knew it was posted a year ago, they're just re-running the story because ISIS is something more people know about due to recent events.
So, fear propaganda from the left, as usual? Kinda surprising they'd use a article like this, though.
Death threats over a a decal? How fucking retarded can you be?
Gotta love people who jump straight to conclusions and refuse to reconsider.
Firstly both parties fearmonger but ok dude live in your pretend world Second, the article is about the lawsuit, it's a continuation of the story, it probably took the company time to get together with lawyers and figure out what to do, of course you would realize this if you took the 10 seconds it takes to read through both articles Third, if you had bothered to read either article it would become obvious what the purpose of the lawsuit is, infact you don't have to deduce anything, it's literally told to you but no, don't take 5 seconds out of your super busy life to read an article or comprehend anything, just spew some dumb shit about "Gawd damn liberal media!"
I wonder how that dealership feels, particularly the salesman, who sold the car that ended up in the hands of ISIS warmachine. I wonder how he feels knowing he contributed to terrorism. I mean, sure, how could he have known that it would end up with ISIS, but I mean come on, selling to turkey??? Everyone knows that turkey is assisting ISIS.
The real question here is why the fuck did they blurr the face of someone from isis? Scared to show his identity? :goodjob:
They should sue for damages, the fucking truck still has the same registration on it from the previous owner. I can see the blue Texas registration sticker on windshield in the picture. What fucking American auto dealer takes a used car and ships it to Turkey without even doing the bare minimum of clean up? Like I know it doesn't really do much having those registration numbers, but it just indicates some shady/lazy shit.
What's amusing is that there are over 1000 failures for human beings running around on this planet that sent him death threats Anyway, it's not shocking at all to hear that a vehicle that was shipped to Turkey ended up in the hands of ISIS

So, How long untill ISIS buys one of theses?

All I can imagine is the technical crew members using Mark-1-Plumbing as a call sign or something
They probably knew it was posted a year ago, they're just re-running the story because ISIS is something more people know about due to recent events.
The original article never mentions a lawsuit. Might be a new development.
How the hell did the vehichle even get shipped out this morning in the first place? Why would a texas man call for his truck to be shipped to Turkey?
How the hell did the vehichle even get shipped out this morning in the first place? Why would a texas man call for his truck to be shipped to Turkey?
What? It was sold to a dealership who then found a buyer overseas. He didn't send it to Turkey.
