I joined YouTube in 2007 and remember how peaceful it was. Now time goes by and Google and copyright takes over. Now we have DMCA's. These can take down a video in a instant once read. Its not like a flag. Once it's sent your video is a target. Now we have Viacom. Or so called Viacommies. These people dominated YouTube. Right now we are pushing them back. But you know whats funny? Every time YouTube rolls a update something else is screwed up. Google cant hold this site up since they keep messing it up more. Now we have ads for other users. Its rubbing it in that we aren't partners and they are. Most of em are Fred ads. Then we have annoying ads on videos so people can get money off the internet. Why did YouTube need to die like this? It was my favorite site to get laughs from. Now its terrible. Do you think YouTube is shitty now??
I personally don't care as long as I can watch GMOD videos or whatever in peace.
dag nag it bobby
Going downhill?
It has been bad for a long time now.
This thread again.
Yes.

Ever since 2008 yes. But from 2006-2007 it wasn't as bad as it is today.
Everything goes downhill.
i remember it as a site that completely focus'd the information on the user.
now its all advertising and getting involved with bigger company's/corporations
I just use ABP to block all of the annoying ads.
I find it good enough to do what I need, I rarely look anything up on there anyway, and the ads dont usually interrupt the video
Wasn't youtube in millions of dollars in debt before Google bought it?
I remember first time I saw youtube.
Those were the days.
What about Viacoms false copyright claims? They claimed Meet the Scout.
And WMG
mother-fucking WMG :argh:
You can't go somewhere you always have been.
It's meant for uploading and sharing content you legally have the rights too. It's doing that fine.
Nobody's forcing you to use youtube.
Why do people bitch about WMG enforcing their copyrights? They have a legal right to, and then again most of the videos that violate WMG's copyright are shitty video game trailers with Linkin' Park added on top of them.
WMG has muted videos where people use their own voices.
Not sure if they still do however.
I think its exactly the same and anyone who says otherwise is a dumb bandwagoning babby.

Have you visited YouTube since 2005? I haven't seen a WMG copyright flagged video for at least 3 months.

Yes I have, I guess its the majority of videos I watch that do get muted.
Whatever :v:

A lot of youtube is opinion pieces, and people of the opposite opinion file complaints and force people to take videos down.
It mostly sucks nowadays because of the endorsement deals they make with the makers of the videos. Genuinely good videos are now filled with advertising crap, and what they make is restricted by Youtube.
So its mainly the fault of the people who take such deals. As for the copyright, all I know is the "third party" bullshit that was going on for a while was the worst. It seemed like anyone could take down a video just by claiming copyright without identifying themselves. I've fought against it multiple times, but it has died down now, thankfully.
fucking viacom
I find it pathetic how they'll even audio replace guitar hero videos.
How else is YouTube going to stay alive? It's a big money guzzler, and monetisation for it isn't easy. And with popularity comes the eye of corporations. If everyone somehow jumped ship to another video sharing site, say, Dailymotion, then Dailymotion would suddenly have this ridiculous increase in legal responsibility.
im fine with every facet of youtube except viacom being able to take down basically anything they please
I had a mass effect 2 video removed by viacom, said they owned audio/visual content. Wasn't aware viacom were a game developer

that reminds me when EA france or what ever the fuck it was claimed copy right of one of "meet the" videos.
I could care less, as long as the basic features remain in place. Favorites and subscriptions, basically.

EA distributes the orange box retail and developed it for the PS3.
