A Colombian student had to leave his university under police escort and abandon the central city of Ibague after an angry crowd came after him to lynch him for joking about the tragic bus accident that killed 32 children in the town of Fundacion, local media reported on Wednesday.
Jose Alejandro Perez Monroy, a law student at the Universidad Cooperativa in Ibague, sparked public rage and indignation with offensive comments he posted on the social networks about Sunday's horrific bus accident in the northern province of Magdalena, where a bus full of young children caught fire as they were returning home from a religious event.

Perez posted offensive comments about the bus fire victims for being from the country's Atlantic coastal region, something that enraged his own friends and about 200 people who came to the university Tuesday night supposedly to lynch him, local media said.

"As expensive as gasoline is and to waste it on 32 coastals? They've got some nerve," was one of the comments Perez, 18, posted on Twitter.
After being identified as the author of that and other messages, the angry crowd came to the university looking for the young man, a situation that forced the local police to dispatch a Mobile Anti-riot Squad to control the situation and prevent Perez from being attacked.
The student had to spend Tuesday night in a police station in Ibague for his own protection, and it was there that he apologized for his insensitive remarks.
"I'm very sorry for having published this. I want the Colombian people and the (residents) of Fundacion to forgive me for joking," he told Caracol television.
shitty joke but lynching him would be a massive overreaction
I don't really get the joke. I'll defend his right to make a shitty joke, but I don't get this one. Is it just being offensive is the joke? It's not even doing that right.
Kid needs to stick to lawyering, and leave comedy to the comedians. I'm sure there's a joke to be pulled out of this, but an 18-year-old law student is not the one to do it.
Pretty poor taste, but wanting to kill him for it? That does nothing but bring more hurt.
I guess the easiest joke to go with is the fact that they're coming home from a religious event, but it's hard to think of one that isn't the hacky "Where is your god now?"
Golly this is tough
He has a horrible sense of humor and are offensive as fuck.
But i don't think he deserves lynching just because that tweet.

All humor is offensive at its core.
EDIT: Name me a joke that doesn't make fun of something, people.

One of my friends studying in the same university had told me that if it were not that the police had it arrived they had Killed, because outside of that university was all parents of children who died and the people who wanted to beat him up or kill Him
Because all made a massive hunt to find Him and ended up finding This name address, facebook and the university where he studied
This is news? Is the news seriously going to over react and print a story about how someone has questionable tastes in humor?

Someone threw a bottle of omega 3 pills at me.
Luckily my injuries were only super fish oil

It's not as much his terrible taste in humor as much it was the fact a group of 200 people were going to lynch him over it.

Alright, you have a point with wordplay puns. Only problem is is that they aren't funny or intelligent.
People get offended way too easily; I mean c'mon, look at http://rdk.deadbsd.org/electricretard/, enough said.

you'd have to be at least somewhat clever to come up with them, and it being funny is subjective

No you don't, they have no bite or comedic worth.

Are you really that upset about a pun.
Personally, I liked it.

the translation of the other Tweets of Him
"The 32 children who were to give a calidoso Eating ... and end up burning in hell"
"As expensive as gasoline is and to waste it on 32 coastals? They've got some nerve
I burning as a child on bus (his tag on twitter where he says the words)
that serve only to coastals
And to me they passed to another who put pictures on Facebook where burned children appear inside on the bus saying, As for barbecued (and in the end had to delete the images) and a video that appeared the bus FLAMING with the screaming kids inside
It's some 18 year old being an edgy cunt, lynching him for a bad joke?
Like really? Come on
It's some 18 year old being an edgy cunt, lynching him for a bad joke?

that was Outside the university where he was, and the police had to use the riot control to get him out of there without being killed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YhFeOkZ0GE
Because all those parents and people were out of the university, hoping to beat up or kill him, I do not think they seemed funny that bad joke
And may end up with the ability to pay up to 3 years in prison for those tiwtts

Sounds like you and puns got a couple of things in common.

It's what fucking society has come to, people think that their being offended really matters.
