Welcome to the Official HTPMG thread! After some private discussions with members here, I've come to the conclusion that my gun is not leet enough and needs improvement. Sound like yours? You've come to the right place. Guidelines: 1. This not a question thread. Directed discussion on improving your weapon's appearance and general BS-pushing only. We're here to exchange tips to help make our guns look amazing, not ask about whether that replica optic on ASGI is a better deal than the one from X retailer. 2. Flaming will result in fire and brimstone. Kindly avoid it so we don't get our section deleted. 3. All else goes (but only on Tuesdays) Example of proper conduct: FPer 1: "Hey, I want to make this AR look boss. What does it need? (Picture here)" FPer 2: "That would really look nice with a replica ACOG and a SCAR flash hider. Also, some OD furniture wouldn't be out of place. Here's an example of what I did..." Example of improper conduct: FPer 1: "Hey, I want to be a Cowwaduty b4d@$$ with a commando pro gun. wot am best do?" FPer 2: "luuuul get an ak nub" --- I'll start. This is my weapon: Right now I'm bouncing some ideas on what to do with it. For instance, my initial idea was this: And this: Or this (less tan and more khaki): Suggest me some ideas, guys. Any combination of these or a new concept I didn't think of would be greatly appreciated.
Like I said, it looks fine the way it is (for an M4).
"The way it is" is never enough. You should know that by now in a hobby like this.
Maybe with M4's I haven't touched the externals of my AK's.
Crane stock :v:
Maybe with M4's I haven't touched the externals of my AK's.
It was a more general description of how a lot of us are.
Crane stock :v:
Hm, got $40 to lend me on top of the money I'm already spending? Good idea, though, and it was up there on the list of "eventually" things...
I have future plans, after I get the brassgaurd and CADPAT out of the way. btw that flash hider will eventually be a Noveske noise amplifier shit thing. Y/N ?
[img_thumb]http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/y367/Battle_Muffin/Airsoft%20Pile/The%20Guns/VFC_M4_01-15-11.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'm assuming its wired to the front with a PEQ box or something. For a cleaner look, rewire to the buffer tube and use lipo buffer tube batteries. I recommend a KA lipo buffer tube, but it will require sawing off part of the extension that the buffer tube slides onto. For the stock, you can either paint it, choose another stock, or go with a crane stock and use crane stock batteries. To complete the 2 tone look, just add a tan grip of sorts and call it a day. [img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/f6fe0f69bc3a2b2b1f9cf5ebf16e8e1d.png[/img_thumb] Y/N ?
Only thing I would change is the flash hider, looks odd having something that large sticking out. Personally, I would run either a CQBR length outer barrel with that or use a 10-11" RIS with the M4 length outer barrel. This is my latest toy. I just quickly slapped some parts on there, nothing permanent right now. Rewiring to the buffer tube is definitely on my to do list. I can't change the flash hider due to it being loctited on, they put so much that my friend actually managed to snap the outer barrel at the gas block when he tried to take it off. Keep in mind this barrel is metal too. Sad part is he says the delta ring is loctited too, so I'm not sure if I can get it off.
I think it's shorter, but that's the closest thing I could find. I also might've screwed up the barrel length when I was putting the M4 together.
How to pimp a gun: Rails TAN PAINT ACOG/EO TECH MAGPUL EVERYTHING ELSE mission accomplished.
I'm assuming its wired to the front with a PEQ box or something. It doesn't look too bad at the moment - I'll try to get a more recent picture of it with the PEQ box.
To complete the 2 tone look, just add a tan grip of sorts and call it a day.
Thing is, nobody will see a grip if it's in my hand! Wouldn't an entire painted lower be a bit more...noticeable?
How to pimp a gun: Rails TAN PAINT ACOG/EO TECH MAGPUL EVERYTHING ELSE mission accomplished.
I don't believe in MagPul. The rail covers are the only exception for now...
Thing is, nobody will see a grip if it's in my hand! Wouldn't an entire painted lower be a bit more...noticeable?
But they will see it when you set it down between games. Also can make it easier to identify against other similar M4's that are out there. Painted lowers, eh just not a fan of them. If it turns out you don't like it you're stuck with it until you either strip the paint or paint over it. Plus you're going to have to take the gearbox and everything out before you paint, more work to do. With tan accessories you can just add and remove them as you chose. But it's going to come down to personal preference. If you like, go for it.
Between games my rifle usually hangs from my 1-point sling. Fair enough though. Do I actually need to remove the gearbox, though? All the examples and tutorials I've found don't make any real mention of that. The crack between the receiver halves is awfully small...

Why would you?

Last thing you want is paint somehow dripping on the inside and covering the contacts for the selector plate. Plus it gives you more maneuverability while you're spray painting it, not having to worry about painting other parts of the gun.
I still think doing full paints rather than two-toned looks buttloads better I need to buy some more cheap M4's to practice painting.
I need to buy some more cheap M4's to practice painting.
Look for display models and broken rifles
I give you the G36c, which I have no friggin idea on how to customize. Closest thing is a wee bit of green cord on the stock both to tell it apart from other G36s when we play and to help keep that stupid plastic piece there, and a grip. Been thinking of a stencil probably my team's "51" mark some others already put on their guns (Heres a couple of pictures of my team leader's M4 to give you an idea of what the stencil looks like ). The reason I don't want to paint it or do the stencil is because I have no idea which paint to use, or how to removed it later if I want to sell my gun. Any info or advice? Or suggestions on some other way to make my gun less generic?
That guys M4 looks hilariously retarded.
That guys M4 looks hilariously retarded.
I think it looks pretty good.

-snip for double post!!-
My last paint job turned out like this: :downs: Any painting tips for future projects?

Thanks, man. Totally solves everything.
Thanks, man. Totally solves everything.
We can't really give you tips other than that. Be creative with it.

Okay, customizing idea: Is it TOO tacticool to put a rail above my upper receiver on my AK? If so, I might just put my eotech on it or leave it there for kicks.
