List of compatible games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Now_games
No Demons Souls on that list. Move along friends, nothing to see here.
No Red Dead? Not interested.
Wait, Uncharted 1 to 3 and The Last of Us are on that list. Does that mean we'll be able to play them on PC?
I don't know about PS Now, if it's a dumb question please forgive me.

Woah
Damn, no Darkness 1 either.
I can finally play Journey on the PC? Awesome, can't wait.
And no MGS games. Fucking shame.
I'd love to play Chromo Phantasma on there but I can't imagine fighting games on there being anything but a nightmare to play on the cloud.

I doubt konami would give them up so easy when they can repackage them as remasters
As neat as this would be, my hopes are still more out there for emulation. Now on the other hand, if this wasn't cloud based there wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not particularly comfortable with the idea of streaming a game.
It is just streaming ? I guess I can't expect higher resolutions and stuff like with emulators (I'm aware there are none for PS3). I wish Sony made official emulators for old systems and sold them like they do consoles/games :(

There is actually a PS3 emulator.

Can I stream games I already own from my own PS3 or do I have to rent them through their system?

You'll have to rent them. You have to do it on PS4 even if you bought the games digitally on PS3.

No mgs games?
"JEEVES STOP! Don't axe the ps3!"
We actually have a chance of getting MGS4 on PC now.
Is Playstation Now even viable yet? I don't have the internet for streaming games at large as is, but it never seemed worth the money since it's basically digital rentals that, depending on circumstances, could be completely unplayable due to something on either (or both) side's faults and thus waste your money.

Would be worse than actually playing it on a PS3, since now you have stream quality and input lag to deal with.
There's going to be a Playstation event on Sept 7 which is where they were probably planning on announcing this, so maybe they'll add some new games to the line-up. If Uncharted and TLOU are compatible, it wouldn't surprise me if Demon's Souls and MGS4 were eventually added

They can't because MGS 2, 3 and 4 uses special pressure sensitive buttons that can't be replicated on anything but a duelshock 2 or 3.

shame our pcs don't share any ports with playstations, I'd sure love to plug in my dualshock.

Dualshocks are the only supported input devices for playstation now
Idk if the dualshock 4 has pressure sensitive buttons though?

Right before I saw this on twitter there was a quickly taken down amazon listing for a dualshock plug for the pc or something along those lines. Would not be surprised if that was announced alongside this.
No Metal Gear Solid 4, time to go back to stalking emulation land.

It doesn't, they stripped that for cost reasons.
No point in having a feature 99.9% of games don't use.

Can't they do something similar to what they did with the Xbox version of the HD collection? I remember MGS2 and 3 being in it, and the Xbox controller didnt have the pressure sens face buttons that 2 and 3 the most relies on.
How good does your internet need to be to play games through PSNow efficiently? I've been on the fence about trying it out.

Yeah, the 360 version did a toggle instead by pressing the thumbsticks. It's not as smooth as the pressure sensitive buttons from Dualshock 2, but it got the job done, and something like it would definitely work on any other control setup.

I do believe there is a free trial to try out, dunno if that's just for the PS4/PSV though.
