According to Church International pastor Greg Crawford, Donald Trump donated 70,000 lbs. of goods. Items included water, diapers, blankets, school supplies, cleaning supplies and non-perishable food.
http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-trump-louisiana-flooding-20160819-snap-story.html Broadcast from CNN:
Fantastic thing to do. Not going to change my opinion on him, but kudos to doing something nice.
Unless there's something missing here, this is one of the few times Trump has done something good. So kudos to him. I'm still hoping people don't suddenly do a 180 and think he's a good person or something. Bad people do good things... and good people do bad things.
He could turn this into a sharp retort if he combines this with his low ad spending and contrasts it with Hillary's high ad spending. If Hillary hasn't donated already then 1) any subsequent donation will look forced 2) if the subsequent donation is bigger it will look like she is trying to buy them.

But i think it's going a bit far to paint him as an inhuman monster. Good on him for doing charity.

Trump has actually done a lot of charitable work in the past.
Good on him, any help is good help. But the cynic in me questions would he would have done this if he wasn't running for president? But I'm in no position to really judge him. Here's hoping that everything works out for the impacted people
this is absolutely kind of him, and i have no doubt that the families that receive from him will be extremely thankful. all politics aside, this is genuinely a good thing.

Remaining low key about this on the other hand would be quite decent of him (although my views on his lack of compentence wouldnt be changed but still).
I love how this article about Trump donating supplies to people caught in a natural disaster has turned into how he's the worst human being on the planet and only doing this to score brownie points with the electorate. Hillary, meanwhile, hasn't done anything. And she is still seen as the morally superior candidate.
I love how this article about Trump donating supplies to people caught in a natural disaster has turned into how he's the worst human being on the planet and only doing this to score brownie points with the electorate.
Who said that?
Hillary, meanwhile, hasn't done anything.
prove it then
Hillary, meanwhile, hasn't done anything. And she is still seen as the morally superior candidate.
since when was the last time hillary mocked people with disabilities and called for gun nuts to kill her opponent?
I'm not really seeing Trump as this great evil some of you make him out to be. Sure you might as well elect a donkey president. But i think it's going a bit far to paint him as an inhuman monster.
I didn't call him an 'inhuman monster'. Bad people are humans, no matter how you cut it. They're despicable for what they say or do, but that doesn't make them 'inhuman monsters'. It just makes them a terrible person. All I was saying is that's it's possible for immoral or awful people to do good things. It's human nature, after all. And I share your sentiment that it was good for him to do this.
I hope you guys realize this isn't out of the goodness of his heart. This an election. He wants to buy the support of these people. Sure, it's nice he did this, but he didn't do this because he felt bad.
Kinda shitty how some people are trying to twist this into a fake anti-Trump story
All candidates should do this even if its just a shallow way of gaining support. The worst thing that could happen is they get into a war of charity and people whose livelihoods have been destroyed end up with more than what they need :v:
The way I see it, the reason why he did it doesn't matter. What matters is he did it.
This is a great thing and I applaud Donald Trump for doing this. Still a shitty candidate.
Mmm a nice juicy tax exemption
What makes you think this is a net positive tax-wise for him
Mmm a nice juicy tax exemption
Just like all of Hillary's charities right? Or are we not allowed to talk about that?
Trump is a terrible politician and awful person, even then people still have some need to slander him. Its like the devil literally is running for office and then people call him satan. Like why bother
donald trump has said that women seeking abortions should be jailed
Source?
I'm not really seeing Trump as this great evil some of you make him out to be. Sure you might as well elect a donkey president. But i think it's going a bit far to paint him as an inhuman monster. Good on him for doing charity.
You know, i was against trump until i listened to his foreign policy speech. I think he's talking about doing exactly what needs to be done right now. And i find it absurd that today, we have both a republican candidate saying "I'm open to being friends with russia, let's put that cold war shit behind us." "We must protect blacks, gays and other minorities" and "we must support muslim reformists in the middle east", and a large amount of people calling someone who made those points their official policy a right wing, white supremicist, xenophobic uber racist fascist. And then rooting for someone who takes millions from fucking saudia arabia/UAE because that person has a vagina politics is fucked these days

It's also worth noting that Trump and Pence stayed near the truck to help unload it. [t]http://www.trbimg.com/img-57b76d95/turbine/la-1471639002-snap-photo/750/750x422[/t] Lead by example as some would say. Hopefully this brings more attention to the flood areas.
Was this a good thing? Yes. Was this also done purely as a political stunt? Yes. Is Hillary jealous that she didn't think of it first? Yes.
"I'm open to being friends with russia, let's put that cold war shit behind us."
And then not long after that, he changed his views on Putin and basically shit all over him.
"We must protect blacks, gays and other minorities"
Well at least now I know you don't follow his campaign at all. He hasn't done jack shit to prevent racial tensions or violence at his rallies, his entire platform is focused on shutting out many minorities who are first wave immigrants, and he has continued to associate himself with homophobic politicians and people.
And then rooting for someone who takes millions from fucking saudia arabia/UAE because that person has a vagina
"People prefer Hillary Clinton, they must only like her because she's a woman." Or, maybe it's because your candidate is garbage.
