I'm the drummer for Antiem, a smallish local band, and I'd like to hear what Facepunch thinks of us. We play alternative/rock/metal although the demos we have up are a little more on the alternative side.

You can check out our demos there. Let me know what you think! :D
P.S. Click the band profile tab or go to bottom left for demos.
In first song can't understand a single word the chick is singing. Also doesn't sound like alternative to me.
Also the guitarist, does he know what he's doing?
Second one sounds really muffled. The instruments I mean.
To be fair, the recording equipment we used was not very good. The guitarist is actually very skilled, he's won multiple competitions and stuff.

Did he write the intro to the first song? Because it really sounds not fluid at all.
Which is the first song?
Bleeding heart
Bleeding Heart is an Ok song. Its not great, but its listenable.

Yeah that's the acoustic version of it. We recorded it mostly as a test for our new equipment.
johan must had a bad day or is temporarily deaf because I could understand most of what she said on the first song and the overall music composition sound pretty nice, a few things to improve but it's by far the best one.
But it's also the one that has the least to do with the rest, the instrumental is better than the others and the recording is miles better, really miles.
The recording of the second one is really bad, what happened? The guitar tone sounds really bad and the voice seems so out of control, everything is all over the place, it needs a new recording, mixing and mastering in my honest opinion.
The third one is a bit heavy on the bass frequencies, and quieter than the others. It's the most poppy song which is not a bad thing but not my style.
Overall the voice is not bad, it's listenable and pleasant in some parts but has room for improvement and I really didn't like the scream on the second song.

Excellent. This is what I was looking for. Constructive criticism. Thank you!
Bleeding heart is good in my opinion, but it feels a bit empty, then again it is the acoustic version.
Reminds me of Flyleaf/Evanescence in the strong female vocal alternative/power ballad style. Keep it up, would like to hear more!

After listening to Gun for a Mouth Demo and Be Okay Demo I definitely notice the mentioned quality difference, but the songs themselves seemed quite good.
Try to get some more high quality stuff uploaded so we can critique the music itself more than the quality of the recording.

Thanks a ton! Yeah we're going for that genre. We've got a ton more on the way.
It's kind of ridiculous because we paid for the Bo Okay and Gun For a Mouth recordings while we did Bleeding Heart ourselves. I just need to buy drum mics and we will start on some more recordings as well as redoing those two. Right now we have about 8 original songs.
Tell me, how open to song (cover) requests are you likely to be at any time?
We currently play The Middle - Jimmy Eat World, House of Wolves - My Chemical Romance, and Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet. We also have a long list that we're planning on learning. We're open to suggestion though definitely. We also have 8 original songs in our set.
