I almost never watch video game reviews, but this is one of the most entertaining one I've seen up to date
Fucking amazing when the tour guy returned i laughed my ass off.
The fucking kiddie pool.
Overall, I think it was a very good review, and I agreed with most if not all of your points. Long story short, I don't like having my hand held too.
Although I think he shouldn't really be giving such a conclusive opinion on the first game even though he hasn't finished it, it was a good review. I must say, if he was that annoyed by voice acting wouldn't it have made sense to use Russian audio? Localized audio is rarely ever as good as the original VA. It adds to the atmosphere even more.
Very good review, wish he'd finish it Also right at the end "BEWBZ"
I want more :'( Wish he could quit his job. There is no real problem with releasing a late review as long as it is good, it rarely matters.
So THAT'S why I didn't like metro 2033 I just couldn't put my feeling to words when I played it
So THAT'S why I didn't like metro 2033 I just couldn't put my feeling to words when I played it
I enjoyed it as a once-over kind of game. The atmosphere was nice and that's what I want most in a linear shooter. (Half-Life 2 is much the same.) As for the support characters? Yeah, they.. well. Hell, I don't remember much because I usually wasn't paying attention to them sans story moments. I actually found the woman from Bioshock Infinite to be more annoying (but she's a central plot aspect, so I can't bitch too hard) than anyone from the Metro series. Except the rare time or two when Alex Vance had a bug that broke the game, I found her to be the perfect support character. By actually supporting passively, staying close, and not yammering about items she found in the area. Elizabeth running off, in and out of combat, constantly, made me feel like I was just supporting her, not the other way around. I just can't agree with DasBoSchitt's complaints about being lead on a leash. A linear game is a linear game regardless of characters pulling the plot or not. I felt Arytom was not a hardened veteran (even if he was come Last Light) and let myself fall into that roll. In a place such as the Metro, it makes a lot more sense to have a more knowledgeable character in the lead. I also found that once they 'let you off the leash' there were plenty of optional areas to explore and the game did breathe a little better; but the entire game rolling like that would have felt empty and been potentially confusing to some. I have S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when I want empty and alone. And I like Metro for claustrophobic areas and the occasional sidekicks. :v:
It's a shame that DasBoSchitt doesn't have the time to do these; He's very funny and clever doing this type of video, maybe even more so than in his usual Idiot Box videos. I didn't actually think this would work but it's actually really beautifully done.
