Two Port Authority police officers narrowly escaped injury last night after a crazed man tried to run them down with his car. Heather Nauert updated us on the frightening situation this morning, saying that the suspect was heard yelling "I want to kill cops" outside the Holland Tunnel in New York City.
One of the police officers was able to jump out of the way at the last second. The vehicle was traveling in a restricted fire lane being patrolled by the officers and ended up smashing into a police cruiser

Apparently "he was high on angel dust and synthetic marijuana was found in the car."
*snip*
Angel dust and spice?
Jesus Christ I'm surprised that mix alone didn't kill him.

I like police officers.
Violence is not the civilized way to fight corruption, nor should justice be dished out using vapid generalizations as hard evidence.
Those kind of people is a menace to society regardless they're on drugs or not.

Me too. I know a lot of them with good families.
Some people are just getting more and more unpredictable these days, it's kinda horrifying and terrifying.

there was a police officer in my city that didn't arrest some friend of one of mine when he got caught with weed (it's still a pretty huge charge here in florida to even have a little so that's why this surprised the fuck out of me) and he seriously got away with it because I guess the cop decided to screw with the kid by giving him the option of smoking ALL of the weed he had infront of the cop as fast as he could, and if he did it, the cop would let him go.
now that was a cool cop

i got busted the other day with a knife (nothing malicious) scales and two grinders, the cops took all of it but they only kept the knife; they joked about me showing up in a rasta beanie and were pretty funny ("you look like you're rolling one up over there, you best be passing said" said one cop to another who was inspecting my grinders), when i was in the cell they made me drinks and rather than pursuing any sort of criminal charges they instead hooked me up with therapy and they were cooperative the whole time, i've got a newfound respect for police

Because what the majority of people fail to realize is that cops are, believe it or not, people too. Probably smoked a bit while they were younger (who hasn't?).. If you treat them like a human being and are aware of their HARD EARNED authority, then they'll go easy on you. (most of the time)
I haven't had a real run-in with a cop except for my first car accident. And even though it was completely my fault, that was the first thing I said to him when he showed up to the scene. He then told me "If you replace that man's tire, I'll only write you 1 ticket because I have to write you SOMETHING" so I did and got away with a cheap $125 "Failure to maintain lane" ticket. Tell them everything and anything they want to know and I can almost guarantee you that it'll be 100% easier on you.

You never want to go all in on the "It was my fault completely" bit even if it was. If anything legal comes of it, if they claim injury or something, you are absolutely FUCKED since you are giving up your legal defense.

You don't have to be all that fond of them to sympathise with them being increasingly marginalized.
Did he get the shit shot out of him?

Nah. I'll go ahead and assume he got knocked out from the crash and also being on drugs, don't take my word though, the details of the arrest are nowhere to be found. It seems the guy hasn't died.

Witnesses report seeing the culprit driving away at high speed in a dodge challenger

Hah, cause he doesn't like cops! Geddit?
I'm not gonna delve into what's right or wrong, but random killing is cowardly no matter who it is.

I will say this restores my faith in the force a little bit. If more stories like this outweighed the bad one's then maybe there wouldn't be that big of a fucking problem.

i couldn't find a mugshot either. Hope they didn't ventilate the guy, I want him to rot in a cell.
the phrase synthetic marijuana makes me imagine a nug growing out of a test tube
