Im not a fanboy or anything i just want to know why people hate them.I understand when people hate bands like the jonas brothers, but Nickleback?

They are the epitome of generic, bland, mainstream rock music.

It sounds to me like it's a bit of a bandwagon, in recent albums they have changed their style to a more mainstream, but old albums have some decent songs.

I don't see what's so bad about that song, sure it may not be your favorite band, but it has tons more talent than any disney band.
They aren't great songwriters but I have respect for Nickelback. Whoever their singer is, he has an awesome voice, and their live sound is perfect.

There is a song or two I enjoy from them, but overall it's too much the same. I like varied songs. Pearl Jam pissed me off when I listened to one of their albums because every song felt the same.
I kinda enjoyed their first album when I was younger. I just can't listen to them anymore, though. Or take them seriously.
It's bland, it's boring, and the lyrics are completely shallow.
