Was cool up until the [sp]River God had a full explanation to its existence and the usual exoskeleton/robotic stuff that Blomkamp puts into everything showed up.[/sp]
Was cool up until the [sp]River God had a full explanation to its existence and the usual exoskeleton/robotic stuff that Blomkamp puts into everything showed up.[/sp]
Agreed. It seems like Blomkamp can't tell a story without literally telling the story.
Interesting concept, [sp]it's like taking that small portion of Watchmen with Dr. Manhattan in Vietnam and doing something else with it. I could have done without a lot of the exposition at the end, especially when the explanation is pretty much a dramatic way of saying "...it just did." I think if it were a full fledged movie it could be more subtle and flesh out (pun lol) the concept a lot better. Also, what an incredibly impractical plane in the other world lol.[/sp]
Honestly I kinda want to see a second film JUST for this. You can't just include [sp]Vietcong Manhatten and Space Age Marine[/sp] and not go with it.
Liked it less as it went on tbh. Still was fun to watch. Some of those ideas were really cool to see, not to mention the production is fantastic.
It gave away to much in regards to [sp]the Rivergod[/sp], but other than that I didn't want it to end. I wanted to see it the whole way through.
The explination of [sp]overcome with so much grief he became skeletor[/sp] seems a little too goofy for my tastes.
Neill Blomkamp has very interesting visions and no clue what to do with any of them.
I sorta liked Rakka more (maybe because I'm a sucker for grimdark) but the [sp]MGSV/Manhattan/SCP vibe was cool, but as someone else mentioned, too much explanation at the end[/sp] Also if the next episode is gonna be [sp]dude with special powers boutta do some gangsta shit[/sp], I'm gonna be a tad underwhelmed for reusing the same theme, unless Blomkamp really wants to make another movie about that and he's throwing around ideas on various settings with that recurring theme
Some concept art from the artist posted at dA. Pretty cool, but it's a shame it became a big exposition dump for the last half
Pretty cool, but it's a shame it became a big exposition dump for the last half
It's essentially a pitch not much they can do in 20 minutes.
It's essentially a pitch not much they can do in 20 minutes.
It would've been better without the exposition though.
