MPs have voted overwhelmingly to allow Theresa May to get Brexit negotiations under way. They backed the government's European Union Bill, supported by the Labour leadership, by 498 votes to 114. The prime minister has set a deadline of 31 March for invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, getting official talks with the EU started. Here we go. This will go down in history as one of the biggest fuck-ups of the UK, betting on it.
Time to watch the GBP ticker freefall again.
It was nice to be with you all. Might you all brits people be lucky in those years and possibly not to get that fucked up.
of course they backed it and of course they fucked up
We are witnessing the unthinkable. God alone knows what the former UK will go through in the years to come, all on the basis of lies by self serving assholes.
don't worry guys, you can join the US and be our 51st state, we got plenty of room on the flag for more stars!
there was pretty much no way this wasn't going to happen on the bright side, parliament will have the opportunity to try and dismantle Theresa May's specific Brexit 'deal' (i.e. leaving the single market).
You know the greatest thing that will come out of this? Cheaper games workshop models.
It's in second reading, so it has plenty of time to be critiqued and picked at. http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2016-17/europeanunionnotificationofwithdrawal.html
You know the greatest thing that will come out of this? Cheaper games workshop models.
I don't think any sort of economic upheaval could make that happen!
Great job being the opposition, Labour. Bravo.
Well.... FUCK!
Why anyone trusts Theresa Mayhem to do ANYTHING right is beyond me.
well at least here we have an opposition, i cant imagine what its like to have both parties essentially supporting something that at least half the country doesnt want
well at least here we have an opposition, i cant imagine what its like to have both parties essentially supporting something that at least half the country doesnt want
OTOH, we'll likely see the current administration take steps to make the Democrats increasingly powerless and irrelevant. In four or eight years we'll probably know exactly how our British comrades feel right now.
a lot of serious geopolitical analysts believe that brexit is going to be beneficial for the UK in the long run
Of course it happened, can't wait to be poor
a lot of serious geopolitical analysts believe that brexit is going to be beneficial for the UK in the long run
i think i have had enough of these "serious geopolitical analysts"
Great job being the opposition, Labour. Bravo.
Theres no point, and no merits, in opposing something for the sake of opposing it. That's how you get American-style politics. They are called the opposition because they didn't vote for the Prime Minister, not because they absolutely have to oppose her on every single thing as if that's their job. Why would constant division and disunity ever be better than occasional bipartisanship?
i think i have had enough of these "serious geopolitical analysts"
why? they are much better at analysing the world than facepunchers including you and me
Great job being the opposition, Labour. Bravo.
as much as I hate to admit it, digging our heels in and dragging it out would probably leave us off even worse plus, this way we can watch it spectacularly fail and then labour can swoop in in the next election after the tories are disgraced! ..right?

They just seem to be getting more popular the more they fuck up. I live in Scotland and our last hope to escape this burning building is for my countrymen not to bottle the second indyref, assuming we can set it up.
Already pulled all my investments and cash out of the UK market. It's not much but I don't want to experience the great gbp crash on what was 40% of my experimental portfolio. No thanks. I wonder how other, much larger investors will play it, I honestly only got into foreign investments as an experimental investment while I was in uni there, should maybe keep tabs on what the big boys do.
don't worry guys, you can join the US and be our 51st state, we got plenty of room on the flag for more stars!
Given Trump, no fucking thank you. Apologies if that was a joke. Well, into the storm.

I'm saying it should be opposed because its a stupid thing that will be awful for the majority of people. Why bother having an opposition party if they just roll over and agree with the current governing party? Why not just have a single party that can do whatever they feel like. Oh wait.
why? they are much better at analysing the world than facepunchers including you and me
"britain is tired of experts"

There's bound to be some things that the two sides agree on, but for the majority of issues, they won't find common ground.
a lot of serious geopolitical analysts believe that brexit is going to be beneficial for the UK in the long run
Got any (reliable) sources?
Fall of UK is inevitable within deceades, Sadly
