Graham Evans, a Conservative MP, has been criticised for not paying attention when Liam Fox, the Defence Secretary, defended sacking 11,000 troops in the House of Commons - and playing air guitar instead. The MP for Weaver Vale was practising chords using a rolled up Parliamentary order paper for a guitar while Dr Fox discussed job losses announced in the Strategic Defence Review and admitted that more could follow. Footage of Mr Evans' efforts was quickly posted on the internet after the blog PoliticsHome picked it up. Michael Dugher, a shadow defence minister, accused the Conservatives of treating job losses among the military "like a joke". He said: "Tory MPs were messing about during the statement like the whole thing was some sort of joke. Well, it's no laughing matter to our Armed Forces and their families." According to sources, the Ministry of Defence needs to make £1billion of savings beyond the cuts already announced. When pressed on whether more jobs could go, Dr Fox said: "Of course, the budgetary pressures continue. It will not be dealt with overnight." The MoD is due to unveil its budget for the next 12 months in April. Speaking in the House of Lords yesterday afternoon, Lord Astor, the junior defence minister, added: "I very much hope that there won't be any further cuts." It is not known which song's chords Mr Evans was practising.
Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/defence/8358603/MP-caught-on-camera-playing-air-guitar-during-troop-sacking-debate.html Classy.
I love how this is such a big deal.
I play air guitar while I'm working and I don't see that on the news Even when it's busy
bwhahahahah, that's hilarious although I'll be honest i expected some sort of outburst, this guy just looked like he couldn't keep still Would have been way more awesome if he was standing among his peers and doing a wicked head banging solo in the background
-snip- ninja'd
What!? He was barely moving his hand! How will the world go on?
He even threw up the horns during
A small-ish fidget during a prepared speech he very likely already knows the details of? This is not notable news. It is bizarre of them to exaggerate something like this.
What the fuck, he was barely even doing anything. Fucking cunts these days will find anything to bitch and moan about....
It looks more like he's fapping. :q:
Why the fuck is this even news?
Why is this news, I think a person can listen and play air guitar at the same time, he is not even disturbing anyone
When humorous threads are posted on ITN, "What the hell is this? This isn't news! I WANT MORE BLOODSHED!!!!" When a little girl gets raped, "Lets make puns!"
Play that with the news video. I air drum all the time at college and don't get grief. I'm sure he's not putting much effort into it so its not like he's blatantly sat there not even looking at whats going on.

The worst part about them making this a big deal is that some people do this by cracking knuckles, tapping/clicking pens, my friend has a thing where he'll type words he hears out on a "air" keyboard (It's weird to watch if he does it all obvious) but this really isn't a big deal. I expected someone being obnoxious about it and interrupting everything. I doubt the person next to him even noticed.
I thought air guitar is when you jump around and stuff, not barely moving your fingers?
