KISS and Hello Kitty Team Up For What Will Surely Be The Best TV Show Ever

File this under "best news ever": Hello Kitty is getting her own cartoon show. KISS are getting their own cartoon show. AND IT'S THE SAME SHOW.
Yes, according to USA Today, children's network The Hub--inspired by a line of genius merchandise called "KISS x Hello Kitty" that features Hello Kitty faces painted up to look like the classic KISS lineup--has thrillingly greenlit a new KISS/Kitty kiddy show. The program will star "four KISS x Hello Kitty characters living their rock 'n' roll dreams and bringing pink anarchy to every situation they are in."
So basically, it's going to be the best thing that ever happened to television since, well, ever--or at least since another litter of animated rocker felines, Josie & The Pussycats, was still on the air.
USA Today reports that the program will be executive-produced by the ever-enterprising Gene Simmons, of course, and is tentatively titled "KISS Hello Kitty." We actually think "Detroit Rock Kitty" has a much cooler ring to it...but regardless, we cannot wait to see the rock 'n' roll fur fly.
I swear to god this sounds like some kind of 80's Saturday morning cartoon show that only lasted 2 seasons.
From what I saw from "Family Jewels", I am guessing this is completely from the nutty mind of Gene.
Maybe they should call it Hello Kissy. KISS x Hello Kitty sounds like some really horrible fan story thing.

He was the one behind "My Dad the Rockstar", yeah?
Sounds interesting, but depending on how it's executed, hopefully it won't become the next bandwagon fandom after MLP and furries.
Who the hell are they marketing this for...?
Old people who like children's cartoon shows?
Young 'old school' rock fans?
This will be awesome.
Is it to get girls into rock and roll and be awesome in life?

YEaaah!
Times like these make me wonder if i fell asleep at the keyboard, i absolutely cannot comprehend the fact that even a single person at hub thought this was a remotely good idea. it's like the jello and peanut butter together.
Maybe i'm really insane and i don't know it and that's why i'm the only person who isn't excited for this.

Hub? Marketing? Ha!
Gene and Paul were always one to do crazy things for money. That's the reason we don't have KISS anymore we have a cover band.
I don't know how to feel about this exactly.
What in the fuck
...Is there going to be an episode where they save Santa?

I still wish that was a real thing. :v:

Hub is literally the Hasbro Channel. Almost all of their shows are based on existing toys and franchises. Do you really think they don't know how to market stuff? My parents would probably have gone broke from buying toys if Hub existed when I was a kid!

This is The Hub we're talking about, "Old people who like children's cartoon shows" are a pretty big chunk of their audience.
[sp]for those who don't know: Hub is behind MLP[/sp]
Nearly 4 decades later and they're still selling out.

It's almost poetic
Let's hope this doesn't turn into another plague similar to the current Pony epidemic. Then again rock and roll is a good thing; I just don't know if combining it with Hello Kitty and turning it into a cartoon is the wisest science experiment. The evidence of an earlier incident is there for all to see, cantering about with it's nose in the air like it owns the souls of man.
i knew it will be on the most retarded channel for kids

To be fair, Hub shows Dan Vs, and that is an awesome show.

Your avatar says otherwise.
Hmm, this sounds interesting. Will keep an eye on this.

Yeah, I know Hub is the Hasbro channel. And that's why I know that a lot of their programming is struggling and that they've basically failed to market the thing completely.
(I'm pretty big on Transformers, so I keep up with their conference appearances enough to know that yeah, they often don't really know how to market stuff)

It's because their marketing/toys department and their cartoon department are two different entities that used to really not have a clue what the other was doing. The majority of Hasbro's toys are made in China using old molds and secondhand stuff. Mostly to reduce cost and saturate a market in cheap toys to maximize sales. Only recently have they figured out that there are a lot of neckbeards with big wallets willing to spend extra on show-accurate toys. So the price/quality of their toys has gone up quite a bit, and they're actually getting the toymakers and the cartoon crew on the same page to ensure their stuff is show-accurate. The popularity of their recent cartoons has also resulted in them putting quite a bit more of their budget into their cartoons. Before MLP:FiM, Hasbro's considered their cartoons really just 20ish minute long adrvertisement commercials.
They're also expanded into Japan, and consumers there demand quality products. So Hasbro is making a really big business shift, and I think it'll be interesting to see how they're going to perform the next five years or so.
