Pyramid in Belize accidently bulldozed, world declars war to everyone because of it
Belize City: A construction company has essentially destroyed one of Belize's largest Mayan pyramids with backhoes and bulldozers to extract crushed rock for a road-building project.
The head of the Belize Institute of Archaeology, Jaime Awe, said the destruction at the Nohmul complex in northern Belize was detected late last week. The ceremonial centre dates back at least 2300 years and is the most important site in northern Belize, near the border with Mexico.
It was probably in a really shitty state anyway, most likely looked like a bunch of rubble.
from the pictures in the article, it probably only looked like some hill.
The case with a lot of Pyramids that aren't the Cairo or the "HOLY FUCK IT'S A TRIANGLE" type is that they were actually just giant, usually rounded, piles of hewn rock or clay brick. Give it a few thousand years to be retaken by the earth, and throw on some plant life, and it'd be easy for any old joe to go "Yeah. That'll make some good fillrock."

I wouldn't think much of it at first glance either; it is covered in foliage, and it doesn't take on much of a defined shape either. This is a picture of the pyramid after the damage was done though.
Now you've done and pissed off the aliens. :tinfoil:
Well, if it was so important, why weren't there any signs around it to let everyone know what it is?
Shit like this will rob us of historical pieces, one by one, until there are no more left. :(
How funny would it be if someone was hilairiously incompetent enough to do this to the Great Pyramid at Giza?

Did you hear about some of the Nazca Lines being destroyed by a Peruvian mining company?

Oh god oh god
If the world's idiocy meter goes high enough someone will find that as a excuse to liberate
I did not even know that this pyramid existed and it looked like shit so I don't really care that it's gone now.

"I don't know anything about it so it must not be important. LEL IDGAF"
It also looked like a faceless rock.
