• Looking for a pixel artist for my game (HLnano)

I'm wanting a pixel artist to redo most of my sprites of the game keeping the basic cartoony style but making them more detailed and resolution increase of at least 12x20 pixels for example Spelunky or La-Mulana however with more colour detail. The sprites would include for the mean time 4 enemies and their animations, 3 weapons and maybe even some level objects and tiles. You would also be part of the team to work on future sprites and your suggestions would be highly considered. Link to my 2D demake of Half life. I'm wanting the sprites to be about twice as detailed so instead of 8x10 pixels for freeman it would be 12x20 pixels for freeman and same twice the resolution for the rest of the sprites
I can help with some of it, if you want me too.
You really need to inform us on how much work you want done, what you want drawn and so forth.
Updated the op.
Still leaving it a lot in the dark, how big should everything be? How many frames in every animation? What level objects? How many level objects? How big should they be? How big should the weapons be? What weapons? You're leaving the artist in the dark on what's expected of him/her. This would be the equivalent of me telling you to code a game where "just add some fighting and stuff and things like that". It's really hard to draw things (or in your case, code) for someone when they are barely providing the basic information necessary to help.
The characters are 24x40 I believe I think that's what he told me.
The characters are 24x40 I believe I think that's what he told me.
The diemensions do change per enemy, however freeman and headcrab zombie are 12x20.
Well, how many frames per animation? What animations? How big are the tiles going to be? Tell me the size of the objects, give us something to work with here. You have to tell us exactly what you want and how big you want it to be and so forth...
An antlion that I made for the other attempt of making this kind of thing: And if it's too small, upscale it.
could i help? ill draw some tests so oyu can see if im any good or not
Post the all the sprites here, let everyone have a go :v: Personally I'd focus on giving the sprites a way to stand out of the background
could i help? ill draw some tests so oyu can see if im any good or not
Your grammar tells us that you're probably bad or drunk or posting from a phone
Hi there, I'm a friend of Red. If this is still going I'd love to help.
Your grammar tells us that you're probably bad or drunk or posting from a phone
None of the above, i type pretty quick so i often miss-spell words or leave out punctuation.

If you don't stop arguing I'm going to turn this thread around and we're going back home [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] anyways, OP you should post your spritesheet here or at least give some parameters (pixel size and whatnot)
I'll do it. When I get to my computer I will attach some examples. Also see my profile pic as an example of the level of detail I am capable of.
First off, I loved the game. Here's a little Gordon I whipped up. It is shaded, but you can't really see it at this size (at your required 24x40px); I'll have to up the contrast a bit. I hope it is close enough to the cartoony style that you wanted, as its hard to have an increased amount of detail while leaving the simple style intact. Please respond with feedback so I can make any changes if necessary. -EDIT- ...and a headcrab zombie. Same with the shading on this one.
Making you your Gordon first. Using a new palette, using the size that you made your Gordon in your game. Since I have some experience in programing I am presuming you don't actually care about the frame count (since you're making the game for the PC right?), so I'm going to make the animations in the amount of frames I see fit. And of course every frame will last the same amount of time, so you don't have any difficulty with the animations. Making animations for: -idle -walking -jumping -hitting with crowbar -shooting the pistol -sprinting
Here's the spritesheet
Will you be letting people set controls? and on an off-topic note:
Hi there, I'm a friend of Red. If this is still going I'd love to help.
[img_thumb]http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2380/penumbra200906110027490.jpg[/img_thumb]?

Also if you have any further question please put it in the HLnano thread

...And this could've been prevented if you had been more informative in your OP.
Here's the headcrab: OSHI- forgot outline, one minute Edit: Okay, here's the version with the outline (looks worse in my opinion):
