A rehearsal of the Victory Day parade took place April 29 in Moscow. Around 150 military machines and over 11,000 servicemen took part in the rehearsal. Several dozen planes and helicopters will also participate in the parade, which will take place on May 9 on Red Square. The next rehearsals are to be held on May 5 and 7. Earlier, on Monday, April 28, a training session of Russian military aviation took place at the Alabino testing range in Moscow Region.
The one thing I love about soviet/post soviet countries is that they love waving their military dicks. A shame US doesn't have something like this, it'll be cool.

what about all those military airshows? that isn't military dickwaving?

Every country does that and it's more about putting on a show for a weekend out rather than LOOK AT ALL OF OUR STUFF. All of it in this nice neat line!
We'd rather get our military dick wet than swing it around.
I thought air shows were more because people enjoy the planes rather than dickwaving

Yeah, there's a military parade every year here on the National Day.
It's good for morale and national pride if anything, and also actually seeing what new gear the army got over the year.

But then you might get aids, never heard the US using a condom before. Slut
We don't have to swing our military dick around. We actually fight wars to show off our technology. :v:

maybe, i certainly don't. but it's not like russia is the only country that shows off it's military.

Warplanes in the US don't come with the aggressive, militaristic connotations that tanks and APCs have.
Dunno why, just the way it is.

But it'll be cool to see the US/UK do something like this.
If the US had a massive military parade it'd be badass
in other news, the Russians have implemented a new battle march music that will play as they invade other countries

I guess the closest we get to a military show off each year is the Trooping of the colour and the Edinburgh military tattoo. Although neither of these includes driving tanks through the middle of London.
I guess there are loads of air shows where the RAF comes and shows off a few of their planes as well.

You're saying that like it's something to be proud of.

We used to have cool tank parades around where I live, but some idiot decided it would be a good idea to drive one while drunk and ruined it for everyone else.
i heard there were tanks 30 minutes outside of Moscow

Still being outperformed by Russia. Ever seen an Su-27/34/35 do a Cobra? That shit's metal.

I will say it again, and again.
The F/A-18 is the sexiest aircraft ever made.
Damn that title

The reason we don't do it is because the US historically has had a long aversion to using it's military and militarism especially. It's only after World War II, the Korean War, and finally when Reagan got elected did this change. With the way things are going and the way dipshits seem to glorify the military (GO MARINEZ) this might change some day and we'll see M1 Abrams rolling through DC eventually.

You make it sound like the F22 can't do that
-sorry?-
the perfect time to invade the rest of ukraine
BTRs are so cool. I'd like to own one some day, you can buy BTR-70s for like $30,000 but then you have to get them across the ocean.
