I don't see what your problem is here. He's giving people the chance to talk to one another about their beliefs instead of just shouting at each other about how their point of view is right and the other's views are wrong. Having a proper argument rather than flaming each other or just point blank ignoring anything that they have to say. Which is basically what you're doing.
Having an open mind means that you're willing to listen to the other person's side of the argument. It doesn't mean blindly agreeing to what the other person says, just being able to listen to what they have to say and argue your case or pick holes in the other person's argument where certain aspects of what they're saying doesn't make sense.
Like the fact that God doesn't exist. That's my view, but it doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to have a debate with a christian over why they think what they think and criticize the core elements of any flawed arguments that they might have.

But it's always the same shit and nothing ever gets accomplished.
Atheist argument: Here is my evidence where is yours?
Theologian's argument: Here is my faith, circular reasoning, and rhetorical nonsense. TAKE ME SERIOUSLY

you know you still need faith in science, as a atheist, as Christians with Christianity.

You may, as you most likely have a misunderstanding in some gray area. However faith is belief without evidence, if all I go by is what the evidence supports I would hardly call that faith. I do not even have faith in said evidence as evidence is still open to inquiry and subject to change. There is no faith here bro.
Atheists: Prove that a god exists.
Religious people: Prove that my god does not exist.(Prove a negative?)
For me it's the image and meaning of a religion that does it.
