Anyone got any good recipes for scotch eggs? The one I tried sucks, or I suck at it.
to the best of my knowledge it's just a boiled egg, wrapped in sausage meat, rolled in breadcrumbs?
wow that sounds delicious
they are pretty tasty! but i'm not sure why you would go to the effort of making them yourself when they're bought very cheaply and i can't imagine the quality would change that much
i've never seen / heard of them before. gotta try them
There's this thing called doing it yourself.
It's a pretty big part of cooking.

Sausage meat? What kind? Will minced pork do? Also, deep fry it?
yep, regular pork sausage meat. and the couple of recipes i've read say to bake it, far healthier.
But does it taste better that way?
No. Fried food always tastes better.

Oily food gives me a headache
The better something tastes, the more unhealthy it is. Thats the general rule.

Why the hell is he getting dumbs for saying you're not supposed to buy pre-made food in the cooking forum? Of course it's going to be better to make it yourself, and I don't care how cheaply they're bought, I can guarantee you that it costs less to buy the ingredients and make it yourself. Plus then you'll have leftover shit to cook with.
My mum used to make these, they are fucking delicious.
Easiest way to make them is to hard boil an egg,
get some sausage mince (if you can't find, cut the end of a sausage and squeeze it out),
wrap that around the egg (remove the shell first),
roll in some bread crumbs,
Bake in oven or fry them.
I ate scotch eggs like I drank water in Scotland
tasty, tasty stuff
