I made a BF1 video based on the 1916 Documentary/Propaganda Film "The Somme". Original slang is used (thanks to "Soldier's Song and Slang of the Great War"), and wording is similar to some of the stuff in the actual documentary (such as using Vs for U's in Museum). Looking for criticism, I definitely feel I could have switched around the last two clips for instance for a bit more of a satirical punch. I also feel I lingered on the title cards a bit too much. Curious about what other people think. This was also all unplanned footage, so I just took a bunch of shots and used what I thought worked. Should I go for a more planned out style in the future?
That was cool, the WW1 slang gave it a really authentic touch.
Should have lowered the frame rate and sped it up, as well as upped the contrast, to make it look more like historical reel.
Also would have been better without stuff like the first clip where the gun is clipping into the wall.
Good otherwise, liked the slang.
Probably would have benefited from using actual actors on a private server to do more coherent scenes.

yeah that was my other thought, and I've since downloaded OBS (record in 16fps which is a good average for the period) and Hitfilm4 so I can have an actual editor (I used two different versions of Windows Movie Maker for the one in the OP lmao).
Threw together this test shot, two different versions of it. One has a higher contrast, which do you think is better?

The only issue with that is I don't really have access to a lot of people who would do that, but it would be a dream! Brings back memories of when I made a video using Mount and Blade: Warband - Napoleonic Wars for school and I used a lot of people I knew for that (plus some random regiment).
I'd say 1 gives off more of the feeling but 2 would be more realistic to cameras at the time.

Also I'd help out film something if you ever want to.
