In case anyone missed it last night:
My god this Ken Ham guy debates with the fervor and focus of a middle school student on a half day.
I love how one of the questions for Ken Ham was "Could anything change your mind?" and his answer was simply put "No". What the hell is even the point of this? If ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can change your mind, why the fuck are you even arguing?
God created creation. original abstract concept do not steal
You can almost see the switch flipping in Ham's head when he enters BIBLE MODE and starts quoting scripture.
"If god didn't make the world, how did the laws of logic come to being?" Is this guy fuckin' serious?
I tried watching this full thing last night but Ken Ham got far too cringey in his answers and I went to bed.
"Creationists have done great things, therefore creationism is right." Wut. "You weren't there, therefore you cannot possibly infer or know anything about what happened at all." WUT. Does this guy even have the capacity to realize his logic is upside down?
I usually don't like theological debates, but Ken Ham is fucking stupid
Bill Nye is god.
"If god didn't make the world, how did the laws of logic come to being?" Is this guy fuckin' serious?
Obviously the laws of logic don't affect him.
The theory of evolution will always have the upper hand in a debate like this. If we really want an answer to our true orgin, the existence of a creator or creators. We are looking in the wrong direction. Evolution will turn out to be nothing but a dead end.
"Creationists have done great things, therefore creationism is right." Wut.
One of Bill points seemed to be saying that Creationists can not be scientists and believing in Creation means that you can not develop new technologies or discover new things about our world. Ham was pointing out that believing in Creationism does not inhibit the advance of science.
Even though we can all agree on the fact Creationism is retarded and so is Ken Ham just imagine that now where you're old some random dude comes up and basically tells you the thing you have believed in all your life, which probably got you through hard times more than once is the biggest bullshit and the whole world laughs at you for believing in your imaginary friend. It doesn't make him any less stupid but it explains why as soon as Bill brings up a valuable point he IMMEDIATLY shuts down everything that would open up the possibility of a meaningful discussion and starts quoting the only proof he has(i.e. the Bible). The points, DO make sense to him, so much that he instantly refuses to believe in any of them because Bible. You got to feel kind of sorry for him.

No, the answers of life do not lie in science. They lie in orgies. Massive, writhing, greasy, sweaty orgies. Hail satan.

Did Ken pretty much just say "if it exists, god created it or it would not have existed"
Welcome to two hours of Ken Ham saying the same bullshit for an hour while his opponent prepares his great, extensive argument. That's how a debate works, I think.
But it all seriousness, Ken brought almost no evidence to support his statements (also some of them were complete bullshit i.e. "You cant prove the earth is 6k+ years old because you weren't there) and Bill Nye simply just provided facts and evidence to destroy Ken in every way possible.
I guess he doesn't think detectives can solve crimes since they weren't there
I thought this was going to be a debate about evolution vs a theory of divine creation. Not evolution vs young earth creationism. How the fuck is this even a debate? How is it possible that in 2014, we need to argue that the idea of the earth being 7000 years old shouldn't be taught in schools?

From Ken Ham's opening speech: [t]https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/t1/1896787_826347937381869_373752563_n.jpg[/t] This is factually wrong. Textbooks cannot discuss or even acknowledge Creationism or any form of religion due to the separation of church and state in most modern schools today. Thus they blend both history types together and just go with the theory of evolution, which is what science textbooks teach in the first place. They aren't imposing naturalism or even atheism, textbooks are just doing their job of teaching based on factual evidence that exists thousands of years before Ken Ham's belief of when the Earth was created.
Jesus, Bill Nye got old.

They're legitimate things, but he defines them so he can try and drive a wedge between hard science and past events, so that the one can have (in his mind) nothing to do with the other. Thing is, Ham isn't this dumb. Not really. People like him make fucking BANK on the contributions of believers. They KNOW when they're being blatantly dishonest. They don't CARE what you think of them, so long as they can reinforce their clients' presuppositions and keep them rooted on their side. Seriously, check out his original set of responses to Bill Nye here... and watch them get DESTROYED by the fact-checking anal-reamage of The Living Dinosaur: ...glorious...
I enjoy the narrator's sense of humor J-Dude, but why all the tits? Click bait or just he just like them in his videos?
I was surprised at the number of people in the audience with horribly deformed faces, but then I thought about it.
I enjoy the narrator's sense of humor J-Dude, but why all the tits? Click bait or just he just like them in his videos?
I'm not all that sure. It might have to do with his infamy for being particularly visceral and foul-mouthed when insulting creationists. It might be a sort of debauched "fuck you" to the high and mighty theist's Victorian sensibilities when it comes to such things. Or it could, as you say, just be to bait horny teenagers into watching something and accidentally learn a thing or two.
