Wow. Seriously, people, WOW. We knew you had it in you, but we're still amazed you've raised over $300,000 so far.
Take a BOW, TF2 community -- because that is an incredible, frankly astounding, amount of money from a dedicated number of gamers, to one heck of a lot of people in some real need right now. Anytime someone gives you guff about something negative in gaming, you go ahead and point them to this post, because here's some late-breaking damn news: they are wrong and gamers are generous and awesome.
Thanks again, and don't forget, these items are available until April 6.

Hat Fortress 2 does good!
Only 3 hats sold.
Activision is helping too. They have sent a group of helpers there. But you have to pay them 60$/hour or else they won't give a fuck.
That's a nice gesture. Good for them.
Good work Valve

And the community!
Who the fuck buys those hats? :o, well good idea by Valve anyway. Has blizzard done anything btw?
At this rate they'll beat out Kim Jong-Il.
Valve is one of the nicest corporations out there.
Valve is ran by good people. Higher respects for them.
Will never forget
what gabe did and ruined my fav game

People who want to donate, it's cool because you donate and help people while still receiving something from it, even if it is just a shitty hat.
Wow, I'm impressed.
Got to hand it to Valve, they deliver great games and that they did this gives me even more the reason to appreciate the work they do
I'll be impressed if they go over $500,000 . Then a Game Developer would've beaten North Korea in donations :v:
Da, This is good.
I laughed when I saw this. It can show you how much people want hats. (Or how nice some people are)

Holy shit shut up.
Seriously we don't need this thread to turn into a "durr hurr hats ruined tf2!" "lol no they didnt derp herp" thread like almost every single hat related thread in tf2 turns into at some point.
Good use for the online hat business.
Valve is fucking totally awesome.
Valve really isn't donating anything they are more of a median for people who are donating money..but they did pioneer this so hats off to them

The pain I felt cannot be put into words.
Great job! I'm glad to see how many game developers are donating to Japan.
I don't see why people bitch about the hats, they're there to customize your character, if you don't like them, don't use them/stop being jealous.

Multimillion dollar corporations have these "donation" things where their customers buy a certain item to make them feel like they're donating while the company that holds it has a surplus of money. It seems almost like a PR gimmick to me. If they really wanted to show they cared they could at least match the price of the donation with their own money to double it. I highly doubt valve would notice a million or two missing from their bank account.
I guess it's still a nice gesture.

Funny how a video game company selling hats to wear in a game is going to send more cash than an entire country was able to send
They would have made this much from the hats even if they didn't say that it was going towards japan.
