An interesting look at base 12's origins, downfall, quirks and uses. I've got to say after watching this that base 12 would have been a much better system to standardise but transitioning now would be difficult to put it mildly.
Dat ending shot down my #1 arguement.
This might have been one of the greatest tragedies in the evolution of our society.
It's almost like, at some point, we were given the option to be able to fly, and we didn't take it.

It's more like we were able to fly but we clipped our wings in defiance.
Urgh, maths
Well it only makes thirds, fourths, and sixths easier doesn't it? Plus you lose fifths going into that system. I'm going to go with no.
Plus I like my smaller factors when going up whole digits. ie 10 to 100 in decimal is a factor of ten but in base 12 it is a factor of twelve. Maybe that is just one of those my brain isn't programmed that way type of things.
This guy is so adorable and happy about numbers
Gives me warm fuzzies
the only issue I can forsee with base 12 is why did so few cultures actually adopt it? base 10 was very common, and the mayans used base 20, but who ever used base 12?
I wonder if there's some inherent issue with how our brains function that makes base 12 hard to learn or use
It sounds interesting, however I hate the names and symbols they use for 10-12, they look and sound fucking awful and don't match up with 0-9 at all, it's like they weren't trying at all.
I mean one of the symbols is literally an x, and the other just an awkward looking E.
Chi and Epsilon
YEAH I KNEW WE WERE RIGHT ABOUT OUR IMPERIAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
AMERICA ON TOP, INTELLECTUAL DOMINANCE
#PREVISION SWAG
I know the only reason my mind has disagreed with this is because i've lived and learned with base 10.
