TB critiques the new Battlefront
[sp]Replace the word 'critiques' with the phrase 'rips to fucking shreds' holy shit[/sp]
Got the impression from the beta that there just wasn't going to be enough variety in gameplay to carry it in the full version, was hoping to be wrong.
not even surprised...
Game has the same problem splatoon had at launch, not enough content. And at least splatoon had a half assed single player campaign.
Hopefully this will change in the following months and the game gets more varied maps and gamemodes.
It looks VERY pretty, just going to say this before I watch
Can't say i totally agree with him on everything, even though it's lacking in content 13 maps ain't bad and I find the actual shooting a lot of fun.
I'm hoping since they have free content updates along with that free jakku DLC coming it'll get more well rounded though, as it stands I'm only as satisfied as I am with my purchase because I got it on sale.
As someone who doesn't care about Star Wars in the slightest, this game looks really bad. I can only assume this game is riding on nothing but people's nostalgia because if there was no Stars Wars here, I really don't think anyone would care about it.
Looks like they wanted to release this in time for maximum hype with the movie.

I don't even think it's riding on nostalgia since everyone who even sees it says it's very different from battlefront. I think it's people excited for a star wars battlefield game considering one of my classmates said "star wars battlefield"
He covered my main gripe with the game in the first minute, in that it might be a better game if it was just a reskin of Battlefield.
I think the game would have actually been good if it was the equivalent of what BF2142 was to BF2, but I feel like they were trying way too hard to make the game 'not Star Wars: Battlefield' like people were saying it would be, and ended up basically with a stripped down form of Battlefield gameplay wise.
I hope they will introduce Jar Jar Binks as a hero.
Like he said, the original battlefronts did everything this game is trying to do way better, it's pathetic. It just has modern graphics on its fewer maps, vehicles, and gameplay variety.
So I've got more hours in this game than him, judging by levels and while all of his points are completely valid I think he overplays the simplicity of the gun mechanics.

In what way? If the guns are too innacurate, skill stops being a significant factor in aim very quickly.
"I HATE this game"
Jesus Christ, TB really ripped this one apart.
it's really great for dumb fun and star wars, but that's pretty much it.
can't wait for the free DLCs
"I really don't know what DICE was going for here."
A $60 to $110 cash grab in an attempt to jump onto the commercial orgy wagon that is the pre-Episode VII hype.
In what way? If the guns are too innacurate, skill stops being a significant factor in aim very quickly.
They're not too innacurate though, in fact they're pretty accurate. Just most of the early weapons are short range because dumbarse progression systems.
I was considering on buying Battlefront 3 but uh, gonna hold off on that after seeing this.
The presentation and gameplay is great, but there just isn't enough there. It's like they just gave us a spoonful of the best ice cream in the world.
it's like they gave the best looking spoonful of icecream (but it tastes slightly worse than generic brand vanilla icecream)
From what TB said it's more like a the ice cream turns out to be a mouthful of A&D ointment.
Wow that fighter mode looked boring as fuck. Like the most basic, arcadey gameplay possible.
This just made me want to play Battlefront 2 tbh. At least that game had more variety

I thought the irony there was that one of his main criticisms, that the flying was clunky and you were limited to preset maneuvers that can't otherwise be puled off, was actually something DICE took from Battlefront
The comparison is better when you look at the fact that Battlefront 2 at least had a class system with clearly defined roles for each person, some sense of teamwork ingrained in it and reasonably balanced maps and vehicle pools for both teams
The way he said he hated it sounded legitimate and sincere. He's said "i hate X" before that just sounded like regular folk "i hate". This time, he sounded really, really furious.
Nice to see TB playing as Dodger. :vs:

At least Battlefront 2's space battles were a little more than just a fighter deathmatch.
Is it just me or does TBs voice sound really really different?

Could have been longer sure, but for what it was it was good. Had some very well done boss fights as well.

Well, you know why. [sp]Cancer[/sp]

At least Splatoon had all it's post-launch content introduced in semi-frequent free updates.
This game has the majority of DLC locked behind a $50 season pass.
