Police said a man entered the gas station on West Colonial Drive and asked for assistance from a clerk. Shortly after, the man exposed a revolver and demanded the clerk open the safe. When the clerk was unable to open the safe, the man ordered another clerk to open it. He was unsuccessful as well. "At that point in time the suspect went to leave the store, and as he was leaving he fired one round towards the clerk," Winter Garden Lt. Scott Allen said Police said as the man left the store he fired a single round at the abdomen of one of the clerks, but the clerk's cellphone stopped the bullet. But does it still work? :v:
Nokia are outclassed.
But does it still work? :v:
If it was a Nokia it would
I feel so much safer with my phone now, knowing my balls are safe.
But can it survive a river?
I've seen iPhones look like that after falling a few feet...
So, as the robber left he just turned to fire a single shot at one of the clerks? Wow, what a dickhole. Robbery is one thing but attempting to murder someone just because you can, that's one heck of a dick-move. And since he only fired one bullet and there were at least two clerks there, it wasn't to hide his identity either.
The gunman is described as a black male wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and pants, sunglasses, a bright yellow traffic vest and white gloves.
Subtle.
What if it was some other phone and the bullet went through? Your phone choice saving your life.
What if it was some other phone and the bullet went through? Your phone choice saving your life.
Looks like the battery absorbed most of the damage, so I bet any phone can stop a bullet as long as the bullet hits the battery

They have a lot of layers, like an onion sort of, space apart, but filled with an ionized liquid. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] This also reminds me of the time my dad pissed someone off and they shot our car battery from close range and got covered in sulfuric acid. the battery still worked, so we just drove away while he was screaming on the ground. Police caught him later and tried him for a ton of car/gun related things.
Yeah, if it hadn't hit the battery I'm certain we'd be hearing a much different story.
Yeah, totally. sort of ironic perhaps that this diagram is of a SCUD battery.
Wait what?
Well, my dad, being a mechanic stopped us on the side of the road, and someone got pissed off that we were blocking the highway with our car troubles and argued with my dad. My dad, just having fixed the car told him we were about to leave and looked into the hood and shot our battery. the top popped open, and the kinetic energy from the bullet sloshed a bunch of acid straight onto his lower body/torso, and started burning him, my dad, knowing the battery still worked, went and started the car, we called the highway patrol and they found him a while later on the road with severe burns. He got arrained on several charges like unlawful discharge of a weapon, as well as aggravated assault, and destruction of personal property. last i heard he got 20-30 years, and that was when i was around 12
Wait what?
I would also like to know more.... Why was this guy shooting your battery? How did it get on him? I don't understand.
Nokia are outclassed.
Nope. Nokia's deflect bullets back at the person who fired said bullets.
Good thing that neither of them knew how to open the safe.
Subtle.
A real genius.
The chances of the bullet hitting the phone were pretty astronomical, that clerk ought to have a Tyler Durden-esque awakening

This and the bullet-stopping HTC.
Damn, there's a story that will catch some ears. This and the bullet-stopping HTC.
Totally, my dad was freaking out for a moment But I have a few other ones, around that time when I lived in/near the hood
I don't get people some times. Rather then cutting his losses he decides to shoot at one of the clerks as he's leaving adding years to any sentence he would receive...
This is what our troops should be wearing.
Totally, my dad was freaking out for a moment But I have a few other ones, around that time when I lived in/near the hood
Share?
That gorilla glass.
I can see them turning this in to an ad. It'll just be a blank background with a slowly rotating shot of the damaged phone. Text and/or a voice-over will come up saying "On October 28th, 2013 a gas station attendant in Florida was robbed at gunpoint. This phone stopped the bullet and saved his life." Then it'll come up showing whatever their newest models are and the prices.
Looks like the battery absorbed most of the damage, so I bet any phone can stop a bullet as long as the bullet hits the battery
It more than likely was the battery, Mythbusters did a thing on bullet proof stuff that isn't body armour and a laptop battery (which at the end of the day is the same thing) faired really well. I assume its because the battery is made up of quite dense metals packed tightly together.
Subtle.
Well, it's not like he was ninjaing his way in, and this way people are likely to remember the vest (which can be easily gotten rid of) instead of his actual distinguishing features - note how this short description doesn't even mention his hair color
