Raids are reported to be taking place in: -Toulouse -Grenoble -Calais Raids are reported as well as in at least one suburb of Paris.
What does raid exactly mean? That looks more like some type of patrol convoy.
What does raid exactly mean? That looks more like some type of patrol convoy.
The modern equivalent of witch hunting.
Like what happened in Boston?
What does raid exactly mean? That looks more like some type of patrol convoy.
I imagine every person these guys are related to, friends with, spoke to, texted, worked with, went to school with, and so on are being rounded up. The usual suspects in other words.
I'm not at all surprised, nor do I blame them.
Looks like RAID is as busy as always to live up to their name. In any case, I hope they find something useful for disrupting ISIS activities in Europe.
The modern equivalent of witch hunting.
This is the police we're talking about, not some crazed mob armed with information gleaned from Reddit.
What does raid exactly mean? That looks more like some type of patrol convoy.
Redundant array of independent disks.
The modern equivalent of witch hunting.
What, you think they're going to start randomly pulling anyone who looks Arabic off the streets and lynch them?
Guardian now reporting these raids are apparently not directly connected to Paris but part of a broader anti-terrorism operation

Hunt em down Frenchies, hunt their backward-asses down.
168 overnight raids apparently. Prime Minister says they're "making use of the legal framework of the state of emergency to question people who are part of the radical jihadist movement... and all those who advocate hate of the republic". 23 people arrested and 31 weapons seized including a rocket launcher. 104 people have been placed under house arrest http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34830233

Good work, France!
Where do people even get a rocketlauncher from
Where do people even get a rocketlauncher from
Somewhere that isn't Western Europe, then they just smuggle it into the EU and from there they can move it anywhere without much trouble.
I picture some guy having a rocket launcher sitting in his apartment, just leaning against the wall, like "yeah, that's my rocket launcher" On a serious note that's fucking terrifying. I wonder if every suspect came through the migration
What the terrorists have accomplished at least is that these kinda raids make people feel protected than threatened.
Where do people even get a rocketlauncher from
Internet...
Holy shit, that's actually a lot of people and weaponry for such a short amount of time. Good work, France!
The police probably has a long list of people who'd they'd like to visit but can't because they don't have any proof. It's not really surprising that you'll find something if you circumvent that rule (that's what's going on here, right? Or what?).
What the terrorists have accomplished at least is that these kinda raids make people feel protected than threatened.
As long as they aren't going door to door pulling people out of homes screaming and tearing everything up.

I imagine it would be legal and bureaucratic hell to perform 168 raids. I figure they were mopping up potential leftovers via their connections to the terrorists but it turns out to be more than that.
A list of things that go bump in the night; * The monster in your wardrobe * Your parents bedroom * The doors of suspected terrorists who reside in France Let's hope the intel was right and that these guys actually have a fucking clue as to what's going on. Information would be quite nice to have right now.
