• A help for my short story.

I'm writing a fiction story for my class, and I want to use a character who pretty much borrows his power from another character from a novel series. Is that counted as plagiarism? To make clear, the power is pretty much the same in concept and execution, but the whole description is different. What's worse, I only discovered this "similarity" AFTER I created the character.
If he can fly or has super strength, it's not plagiarism. If it's really specific, like shooting web from his wrist, I still don't think it's plagiarism, but it's just plain lazy and not creative. Since you said you didn't know that a hero was already using it, it's prolly not that popular, so go to town with it. Plus it's for your class, so you won't be making any money off it.
