Matt Atkins hit the headlines in April when he stood at the roundabout in Basildon, Essex, armed with a placard saying he was "desperate 4 a job". The 46-year-old father of two took a role with a cleaning firm as a result. He has now been promoted to managing the company's landscape and gardening business. Mr Atkins, of Wickford, was offered six jobs after pitching for work at the roundabout and now works for BizziB.
See here? persistence does pay, one way or the other. Enjoy your work and the money that comes with it, my dear man.
Now that's a er if I've ever seen one.

So that's the key to the unemployment crisis? "Be internet famous"?
if he was in the states he'd be heckled and called a worthless sack of shit for doing this. source: experience.
So that's the key to the unemployment crisis? "Be internet famous"?
Bingo. It's not standing around with a sign, it's being the guy in the post about some guy standing around with a sign, which is conveniently posted by a famous blogger. So the rabid "OMG OMG OMG BOOTSTRAPS!!" fanatics can shut it, because financial help is still needed for those who's hit rock bottom.
if he was in the states he'd be heckled and called a worthless sack of shit for doing this. source: experience.
Just like Ted Williams right? Generalizations are fun
This makes me only want to go outside and try this right now .__. haven't had a job application response in months...
Almost got the right idea, should of been holding up a "desperate 4 some dosh" sign instead. Jobs are just awful, why not ask for the money instead?
See here? persistence does pay, one way or the other.
As I said.
Okay now this how we need to deal with the homeless problem in the united states, give them jobs that they can do quite easily that no one else really has the time to do like cleaning up places, that way we could get the litter off the sides of the streets and highways and and they have an income that they can start getting off the streets with. Or anyone that needs or wants a job really.
Maybe I should try that.
Just like Ted Williams right? Generalizations are fun
Oh shit! You managed to cite yet another one in a million chance! That'll surely negate his opinion of this article which was created in large part by his own personal experience. Besides, Ted Williams got famous because he had that amazing voice. Had he been a normal homeless dude, he's still be living on the streets or straight up dead. Exceptional circumstances are exactly that.
