Here's some previews as to what you can expect. Enjoy, nerds. Edit; Also, if you want some of these as posters for some room design or whatever, http://www.artscow.com/ is a good place to order poster sized. Edit2; The 1945 folder isn't really hi-res, the pictures are small compared to all the others. The stuff from 1939 is nicer though and hi-res, so chin up bro.
The Soviet Union was a disgusting and disgraceful country that murdered millions and life hell for its inhabitants.
The Soviet Union was a disgusting and disgraceful country that murdered millions and life hell for its inhabitants.
I just think the artwork is cool chill bro
robert is your hand ok now
Getting better :-)
Edit; Also, if you want some of these as posters for some room design or whatever, http://www.artscow.com/ is a good place to order poster sized.
If the images are all the same kind of size as the previews then they'd just come out horrible and stretched.
If the images are all the same kind of size as the previews then they'd just come out horrible and stretched.
They're not, and they won't. I've ordered some. Artscow does a good job resizing. This one specifically is framed and hung up right now because it ties in really well with my room. I've always loved the style of USSR propaganda, don't know why. [editline]May 13th, 2011[/editline] Maybe because I just like the color red. v:v:v
If the images are all the same kind of size as the previews then they'd just come out horrible and stretched.
click the previews?
I've always loved the style of USSR propaganda, don't know why. [editline]May 13th, 2011[/editline] Maybe because I just like the color red. v:v:v
I find it interesting because growing up in the US has made Russia "that country" that we were at war with for decades, "that country" that had the power to kill the rest of the world, "that country" that threatened to spread the ideals of communism and take over the globe, etc. It's just interesting to learn/see life from the other side.
I like the art. I like what it symbolized, not who it stood for, not where it stood for.
The Soviet Union was a disgusting and disgraceful country that murdered millions and life hell for its inhabitants.
iirc Russia has been doing a lot worse since the soviet union has collapsed
Also, here are a few more previews of the stuff in there A chunk of the Brezhnev folder A chunk of the Gorbachev folder [editline]14th May 2011[/editline] And for you WWII buffs, heres a chunk of the 1945 folder. Oooh, I love soviet propaganda! :v:
I am downloading these, totally deserved a thread as I find this useful.
Does this collection contain anything related to the Buran-Energia project? if not I can't spare a fuck they are pretty cool though
I am downloading these, totally deserved a thread as I find this useful.
what he said
The Soviet Union was a disgusting and disgraceful country that murdered millions and life hell for its inhabitants.
:smith: [editline]13th May 2011[/editline] Also, fuck yes.
Where the hell did you get all of these anyway?
Where the hell did you get all of these anyway?
I collect artwork of all kinds all the time. My PC's images folder is huge. These in particular you can thank some of my bros on SA for, since, they played a part in helping me collect them.
I thought the internet was already over the russian weeaboo phase.
I thought the internet was already over the russian weeaboo phase.
Netu.avi
The Soviet Union was a disgusting and disgraceful country that murdered millions and life hell for its inhabitants.
Show me a country/state that hasn't at one point or another.
I thought the internet was already over the russian weeaboo phase.
Is there something wrong with admiring artwork? If so please elaborate. I like some of the artwork that came out of the USSR. I like the style of it. I think it looks GOOD. I don't automatically support the USSR or wish I could speak Russian suddenly. Art is art, whatever the medium, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Deal with it.

[editline]14th May 2011[/editline] I just loved the one poster were everyone is united. It is beautiful :3:
Show me a country/state that hasn't at one point or another.
I probably can't, but I can tell you that the Soviet Union was for its entirety and not just a phase. [editline]13th May 2011[/editline]
iirc Russia has been doing a lot worse since the soviet union has collapsed
That's nice. How that warrants the Soviet Union's existence is beyond me.
The Soviet Union was a disgusting and disgraceful country that murdered millions and life hell for its inhabitants.
Oh boy. I'm not an advocate for the SU. But that is a bit exaggerated.
I fucking love the art style, and people generally to see Stalinism and Markism-Leninism as the same thing- they're totally different. Also look at loads of western album art and graphic design, lots very much stolen from soviet design. That rainbow bomb in the OP, its amazing graphic design.
