You could try some black sabbath or white stripes material in general.
Anything by Sublime. Most songs are easy to play and pleasing to the ear.

Did you miss the "Any skills" bit?
I was thinking something more direct, like links

half of art is gathering your own supplies.

He's not speaking literally. He means it "occurred to him".
Just learn chords and scales then piece them together, play actual songs when you get a bit better and master the technique. Good luck! :banjo:
Green Day - Good Riddance.
First learn the chords and then you start training with the fingerpicking. It is easy to learn and it sounds good.
Can I Play With Madness? - Iron Maiden.
Anyone know any good tab sites?

Don't start with tabs, it will just be confusing when you try to learn chords later on.
just learn the major chords. once you have those, try some variaions with them, and to be honest you should be able to play just about any song you want to.
Improvise, play whatever sounds good to you.

Which by the way is expensive as fuck if you aren't going digital.

911 tabs is the Google of tabs sites, start there. As for recommendations on songs, I would try something you like rather than something boringly simple. Just take a song you enjoy and tackle it by slowly progressing. Don't take it by learning random sections or parts, learn the intro, then the intro along with the next part and etc. I'd make a suggestion if I knew your preferred genre. Hope this helps.
Start with simple songs, there are some good songs to start.. But depends on what are your tastes. Metal is probably the genre that's harder to play at start..
Try easy songs such as..
Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Nirvana - Come as you are
AC/DC - Back in black
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Deep Purple - Smoke on water
I'm learning guitar myself and these are the songs I have learnt so far. Pretty easy.
Well im teaching my guitar students who have been playing for a month some greenday, and iron man bu black sabbath, then they want to learn some ac/dc :D have a look at some of greenday's stuff its not hard to play, even I manage to play the entire american idiot album off by heart by ear :buddy:
A few songs that I've found to be really easy:
-Brain Stew (Green Day)
-Smoke on Water (Deep Purple)
A bit harder, but it's an awesome song...
Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love (Van Halen)
And Sgt Pringles is right. Alot of Green Day's music is very simple, due to the fact that it's often meant to be played while singing. Most of the songs are just a series of power cords.
Back to my Vivaldi
Practice slow, and start looking at some of the more advanced lessons early. Rock Discipline is an awesome DVD because it's got exercises that you can do at any tempo and they are bound to help out you a ton.
Play the riff of Lucretia by Megadeth, the easy part of it, it's super easy but it's so fun to play
Do you know how to read tabs?

How can you not know how to read tabs?
The dude just picked up his guitar. There's a pretty high likelihood that he doesn't. But in retrospect, he did ask for a tab site, so nevermind. :downs:
Bend the hell out of strings when showing off, it sounds cool.
Smoke on the water!!!!

I don't even know how to play the guitar or bass, or any other instrument (other than a trumpet/euphonium :downs:) and I can read tabs.
