then blow their brains out and come back as a zombie so Frank can also bash their head in again
Well, at least this dev guy delivers.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the "2016" line might actually be in the game. I hope it isn't though. But I can see them doing it.
that fucking dab at 1:21
For anyone who missed the "nnnggghhhaa" reference.

I've said this before but Capcom went the entirely wrong direction with the DeadRising series. DR1 found a niche crowd because it was Dark Souls years before it became popular. I could make all the parallels but honestly they are blaringly apparent if compared. It was a hard game, you would fuck up every playthrough and it took a huge time investment to beat the game fully. Getting the best ending was close to impossible and you had to fight a fucking helicopter. You were able to play at your leisure any time you wanted to, you would just have to start a new playthrough.
It was an awesome mixture of Groundhog Day, zombies, psychopaths, and weaponized frugality. They could have been just as famous and innovative as the Dark Souls series but they decided to embrace an awful saints row concept instead. It's a damn shame; DR1 is a diamond in the rough and wayyyyy ahead of it's time.

Saints Row and Grand Theft Auto are two very similar game concepts that went two very distinct and polar opposites
When Saints Row first came out it was all about gangbanging, etc. with some slightly wacky things thrown in every once in a while, kinda like how Dead Rising 1 is; then as the series got more entries they both went full retard and tried way to hard with the wacky and over the top shit
Grand Theft Auto has always been kinda dark and gritty, but it was still a lot more realistic and still found it's own unique way to be funny
The real question is what can be the Grand Theft Auto to Dead Rising's "Saint's Row" feeling?

No it really wasnt. It wasn't as hard as you're making it out to be. It was difficult, yes, but saying that it was close to impossible to get the best ending is just wrong. It wasn't so hard that you kept dying over and over like Dark Souls. My first playthrough of DR1 was flawless although I didn't get the Overtime mode until my 2nd playthrough.

What? GTA has always been incredibly silly and ridicilous, it was never really that gritty except for GTA4 and Lost & Damned and even then it still had moments of levity. GTA is pretty much just a British parody of American crime movies, Vice City being a good example since it riffs on stuff like Miami Vice and Scarface. Fucks sake, GTA1 had you run over Hare Krishnas for bonus points.
This is the series that gave us such gold as this.

But that's the exact reason why Saints Row became what it was. The first game existed purely as a stop gap for a "next gen GTA" because Rockstar at the time wasn't making one. If anyone actually remembers, Volition intentionally delayed SR2 because GTAIV was announced and was scheduled to be released before SR2's original release date. After they saw that GTAIV went with a more serious direction, Volition decided to use San Andreas as a base and made sure it was less serious and more over the top. It just spiraled out from there.
The charm of Dead Rising 1 is gone completely, they should have let the future games be made by Capcom Studio 1 instead of sourcing it out
