MOSCOW, November 9 (RIA Novosti) – Greek coastal guards seized a ship full of firearms that were apparently intended for either Libya or Syria, reports said Friday. The coastal guard service confirmed in a statement the seizure of an arms-carrying freighter from Ukraine off the Greek isle of Symi, but gave no details.
Maritime Bulletin website identified the ship as Lebanese cargo vessel Nour M, sailing under Sierra Leone Flag, which set out from the Ukrainian port of Nikolayev on Oct. 25.
War is business, and business has been good. :downs:
I ordered one, fucking coastguard...
Has to be a weird variant as those cartridges depicted are neither 5.45x39 or 7.62x39.

5.56x45 AK's are a thing. The source probably just took a random bullet stock photo for the article.

They're rare compared to the amount of AK's chambered in 5.45x39 and 7.62x39 though.
Yeah im pretty sure the Syrians want 7.62 AKs considering the amount of 7.62 they have already.
Maybe they should ship them more STG-44s.

One thing I wonder is why the rebel groups didn't just take those weapons and try to smuggle them to the United States or Mexico blackmarket. The ammo is probably uncommon as all hell over there, and they would make some decent dosh by selling rare guns to collectors.
AFAIK they found a bunch of STG-44's nobody shipped them. Plus they had to of traded/sold most of them for other guns because of the kurz round the STG uses.
Nick Cage must be pissed.

Should've brought more rotten potatoes.

Really? Fuck I want an StG 44
I'll take a few of those kalash if they don't want them.

If our country allowed carrying firearms, I so would buy a C 96.

Oh how I would love to have a rifle in 7.92x33 Kurz.

They were just some post WWII surplus that never got used. After WWII Syria and a bunch of other backwater shit holes bought a bunch of surplus weaponry that the allies had captured. Things like Panzer IV's and those STG-44's. Panzer IV's got used in wars against Israel but the STG-44's probably didn't see service because AKM's were a thing.

Somewhat more hilarious is this:

The Israeli airforce used BF-109s.

Well. Avia S-199. BF-109 airframe with HE-111 engines. This resulted in even more horrible handling than the regular BF-109 had.

Well. Avia S-199. BF-109 airframe with HE-111 engines. This resulted in even more horrible handling than the regular BF-109 had.
Well, it's not like Nazi military equipment is possessed by a machine spirit that automatically liquefies Jews; the Israelis at the time probably appreciated the irony of Nazi Germany hardware now being used to protect the existence of a Jewish state.

Given how dangerous the Avia S-199 was to land, this might actually have been the case.
Any landing a 109 pilot can limp or crawl away from is a good landing for a 109.

woah are those meteors in the background? what a cool museum(?)
I'll take two.
Now us Greeks can sell it back to them for twice the price and we can get ourselves out of the debt crisis. I see a Buissness opportunity here
