Indonesian census finds 157-year-old woman still alive.

[RELEASE]Around the globe, census taking is an important tool to help determine the need to improve infrastructure and services to countries with growing populations. In one census conducted in Indonesia, however, census takers may have quite possibly discovered, the oldest woman in the world. Sill alive and kicking for over 157 years, a South Sumatran villager known only as Turinah claims to have been born in 1853 – the same year the Crimean War started as well as the year when Russell Hawes patented the envelope-folding machine. What is even more incredible about Turinah, is that the woman is still active around the home after all this time, can see and hear just fine, and has smoked clove cigarettes for years.
Unfortunately Turinah destroyed all her identification several decades ago to keep her from being connected to a communist coup in Indonesia back in 1965, so her claim cannot be immediately verified. If her age does indeed turn out to be true, though, she will have smashed the record of the oldest person to have ever lived, which was a French woman by the name of Jeanne Calment who passed away in 1997 at the age of 122.[/RELEASE]

Not too sure if this is real or not but I found it fascinating. The original source I found was a video from comcast.net which was a radio broadcast from FOX News but because of this forum's attitude towards FOX, I decided that it wouldn't be the main source. This could be just an idiot claiming bullshit - like it says in the source, she destroyed any evidence so this cannot be verified.
Have fun with this one.
I call bullshit on this.

No shit.
Same here, just found this interesting. I suppose somebody wants a spot in the Guinness World Records. /badjoke

1x agree
time to carbon date her for evidence
Funny thing is that all people claiming to be super old have lost/destroyed their birth certificate/identification in some way.
She even beat Mass Effect, damn.
Bullshit. Without any verifiable evidence it's just some senile old woman spouting gibberish.
time to carbon date her for evidence
You can't carbon date living things. And carbon dating is usually only accurate on the scale of hundreds of years.

Probably fake.
But if it's real... Damn, that lady is awesome.
Do a vivisection and biopsy her brain.
It'd be cool if she actually is 157.
damn, I really hope this is real. That'd be great.
Cut her in half and count the rings.
damn, I really hope this is real. That'd be great.
You hope this is real? You seriously consider it an actual possibility that she's 157?

I have problems to keep my administrative shit together, and I am 18. During 150 years, you have a plenty of opportunities to lose them.

That's not even the biggest issue. Carbon dating tells you how long ago the organism died.
157 seems a rather improbable human age for this time period. I doubt it's real, and i'm usually open to the paranormal.

she's really a zombie
She's pretty old.
"Alright, Gran, we're gonna be rich, but you just have to play along, okay?"
I'm not as skeptical as the rest of you. 60 used to be a stretch for humans. Though I am somewhat.

You try keeping up with something 157 years :saddowns:

It's kind of hard to keep some pieces of paper intact for over a century living in a poor location like that.

:golfclap:
Well played, sir.
