At least they are doing something right.
At least they are doing something right.
They're only doing this to take on UDK.
They're only doing this to take on UDK.
Good? Not everyone is a fan of the UDK. I don't see how competition nullifies the good this will do for the community, or in any other walk of life for that matter. Fact is we get an SDK, stop dissecting it.
They're only doing this to take on UDK.
Nu-uh crytek regarding modding are more loyal to fans. [editline]26th April 2011[/editline] Than valve even
Crysis 2 didn't have Sandbox on release.
Nor did Portal 2.
Nor did Portal 2.
Except you missed the part where we can make maps for Portal 2, but not for Crysis 2 (well, without the leak editor anyway.)
Except you missed the part where we can make maps for Portal 2, but not for Crysis 2 (well, without the leak editor anyway.)
You have to do a lot of hacking and modifying to get that to work, so it didn't have an SDK on release. Why are you complaining?
At least they are doing something right.
Implying Crysis 2 was a massive failure.
Looking forward to this. Personally not a fan of UDK and stuff. I've not used it heavily but it operates more like a modling program in its interface and how it works. I suppose that's great if you are an artist who is experienced with modeling programs, but I am not. Sandbox 2 work more like a... 3D version of indesign if you will, or an actual game except with the capability to edit on the fly. So much more seamless.
Can't wait for some big open jungle maps again!
Same. I hope they fix the cars to not have such a low speed cap. Honestly, going down a vertical slope in the leaked editor was like watching a spider crawl down a wall.
HL2 had that shit aswell, if you increased the buggyspeed past 30kmhs it started flpping
You have to do a lot of hacking and modifying to get that to work, so it didn't have an SDK on release. By the time Crysis 2's sdk / sandbox comes out Portal 2's will have been out and had updates. Not to mention Crytek are bad at supporting their sdks.
Took me five seconds to get it in a usable state.
That's because you downloaded FGD's and read tutorials on the internet. I repeat, YOU didn't find these hacks, nor did the game have any SDK on release. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] It's also funny because you're implying it'll get updates soon, when Valve isn't even supporting these hacks for Hammer. You'll have to wait for a proper SDK update, just like people will wait for CryEngine SDK.
and honestly it's a better move to release the tools after the game is released
Cry for free? :crying:
