Tim Armstrong suddenly interrupted a speech he was giving to tell Abel Lenz, the creative director at AOL’s struggling Patch local-news network, he was out of a job. On the audio Armstrong can be heard saying, “Abel, put that camera down right now! Abel, you’re fired. Out!”
Read more: http://www.news.com.au/technology/biztech/ceo-of-aol-tim-armstrong-taped-firing-employee-for-snapping-his-photo/story-fn5lic6c-1226695231072#ixzz2birb5AV2 What a dick [editline]12th August 2013[/editline] recording is in the link
fucking aol. I wish I could just delete my email from there, but I can't remember my security question from when I was like, 6, when I first made it.
What a dick. Wrongful termination anyone?
What a jackass. I can't fucking stand rich, entitled assholes that get off on casually ruining other people's lives for some minor annoyance.
What a power junkie fuck.
What a goofy headed butt face
What a ca-ca-ca-cartoon.
He strongarmed him into putting down the camera.
this guy is such a walrus.
seriously AOL is still alive? can't they just die already, i mean this dude is saying he's so commited to this network, but at the same time he's going to fire a bunch of people, then he just casually fires someone like that? he could have just said get out not that.
He had his phone out during a meeting. Which could have been recording video, photos, or audio. What the fuck was that employee thinking?
Wow just because you went to the moon doesn't mean you should be such a dick
I would say let's boycott AOL, but no one is using it anyway.
Why is everyone automatically taking this at face value that an evil CEO just fired an employee for no reason?
What a dick. Wrongful termination anyone?
you agree to terms that state that your employee can terminate you at any time for whatever reason, depending on where you are hired.
how does AOL still exist
The conference call was announcing layoffs in the company, he might already have been fired.
how does AOL still exist
Computer Illiterates.
What a dick. Wrongful termination anyone?
Pretty sure you can be fired for any reason at any time, unless you have tenure, a contract, or the reason is a breach of civil rights (fired for being gay).
what a boss, zero tolerance phone policy bitch, insta-fired on the spot. seriously what a guy, it was so nonchalant.
The guy who was taking photos regularly posted pictures from meetings to their internal news network; so he was pretty much doing his job.
hey ive met the ceo hes a chill nigga
It's perfectly possible that Abel did something to provoke him saying "Abel, you're fired - out." It's also perfectly possible that this isn't the first time it has happend... It just seems like the situation is being taken out of context
This seriously has to have resulted in the fastest call to a union representative ever or AOL is fucked
Well he's getting some seriously negative PR for this at least.
To be honest the employee did have his phone out during a meeting. He could have been a repeat offender too, on the brink of being fired.
Wow just because you went to the moon doesn't mean you should be such a dick
give him a break, he's just still mad after the whole doping fiasco
give him a break, he's just still mad after the whole doping fiasco
Not to mention his skills with a trumpet. Man this guy has truly forgotten the wonderful world we live in.
I would say let's boycott AOL, but no one is using it anyway.
I still use my email that I made 11 years ago. :v:
AOL is dead anyway :v:
