I've listened to my music far too much, and I've basically gotten bored of it all. I'm not into anything 80's really, due to the artificial sound, so my strongest like is stuff from the 70's, preferably guitar based. The bands I'm listening to now is basically Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, with the very occasional Doors and Pink Floyd, both latters in which I'm not the biggest fan of. I have to say the band I really enjoy most is Black Sabbath, so anything like that would be appreciated. I should probably note that I'm really one for guitar work, so yeah. Hit me away with what you've got to offer.
Hm, I think I might narrow down my music taste more. I prefer guitar work in my music, but I like to keep it limited strictly to rock/hard rock to early metal (Black Sabbath). I don't mind blues-rock, but something like Frijid Pink on their first album (Crying Shame, Tell Me Why, End of the Line, House of the Rising Sun, I Want To Be Your Lover). With distortion, I don't like it anything more than Black Sabbath, anything above that is just a clustered mess of fuzziness and distorted notes. My main era of taste is probably late 60s to mid 70s. Some of my most liked bands from the period, going from earliest to latest, would be Blue Cheer, Iron Butterfly (In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida only, really), Frijid Pink (See the 5 titled songs above), Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Blackfeather and Blue Oyster Cult (First three albums). I hope that helps a little bit, I haven't had very many suggestions which I like, so far.
Well, do you really like acoustic? If so I have a good idea
Listen to some Jimmi Hendrix. And The Who
The reason you're bored of your music is because you restrict yourself to music made in the '70s.
I agree with the above comment. Try to branch out. But just to keep you happy. Try some 70's Prog. stuff like Yes, King Crimson, and Genesis.
The Ventures, Dick Dale and Stevie Ray.
Off the top of my head.

I agree, but for some reason, I haven't been able to get into anything else. It's either too fast, or too heavy, or nothing appealing to my taste.

Forgot to mention, I'm not a fan of blues.
Why not try listening to some of the newer Indie Rock bands such as Stereophonics, Arctic Monkeys, etc.
I hightly recommend the above though.

I reckon you might like some Rockabilly. Lighter hearted than your normal fare; try some Stray Cats, Imelda May, or maybe the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
The Shadows.
Period.

Only Stevie Ray is blues of those bands
You could try early Iron Maiden, they started up in the late 70s. I think Killers was their only 70s album though.
Or not, considering that you can't get into heavier or faster stuff.
Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I am very picky with my music, ( about 75% of the time I hate anything on my alt rock radio station ) but with rhcp I love almost all of their music instead of just 1 or 2 songs from other artists. Great band.

Listen to music that's completely different than what you have. Try some stuff by The Cranberries and Hilltop Hoods.
Considering you like a lot of seventies metal, here comes a lot of doom metal and Sabbath Worship bands incoming.

Try Wolfmother, They are quite similar to Led Zeppelin, but different enough to not just be a copycat band.

That's jazz you're thinking of.
Check out Religious Knives

Oh lawdy lawdy, I'm sorry.
[editline]04:22PM[/editline]
Besides, doom metal has to be the easiest genre of extreme metal for beginners to get into.
Dude, the only metal he stated he likes was Sabbath, and you chuck doom metal at him? wut.
Doom metal is basically Sabbath worship. Makes sense to me.
Also Saint Vitus.

Maybe because hurr Doom metal almost exclusively derived from Black Sabbath, and Black Sabbath are considered the protofathers of Doom metal?
Nah that can't be why.
I recommend some 70's Judas Priest.

All I can suggest is that you challenge yourself. As someone else said in this thread, try listening to stuff you don't usually listen to and go from there.
Try Coldplay, they're good.
Try Radiohead, they're far better.

use that
