I honestly think 1969 is the best period in car history. Why? Just google a few.

just a few.
Some of the most widely known and beautifully designed cars came out of this year, everyone was in fear of what the 70s would bring. 1969 was an explosion of beauty, this being especially true for the United States. There's just something romantic and majestic about the sequence of numbers, 1969.
1969 was the last year of the true muscle car, after that it kind of dwindled with politics and the oil crisis.
69 to 71

i thought 1970 was right before lolemissions
Possibly.

1969 was also the year that Scania introduced their 14 Litre diesel V8 for trucks.

Saw a 1968 AMX for sale in Sarasota the other day. 4 speed manual transmission, 390 V8, with a red white and blue AMC racing paintjob. They wanted 29k for it.

mini marcos?^
and with my 97BHP car that weight 1,100 lbs with ME in it
it has about 1 hp per every 11-12 pounds a subaru impreza WRX/STI has the same power/weight ratio
it only tops out at 88 MPH though so im going to get a new tranny eventually
EDIT: thats more than most old muscle cars aswell which have about 1hp/13-17 lbs
97 hp

It's only 1,100lbs, so 97hp is a hell of a lot when you consider the power to weight ratio.
To put it in perspective, it'd be like having a 260hp engine in your Grand Am (assuming it wouldn't catch fire).

:flashfap: I love cars and all, but...
I'm a truck man. Every GM, Ford, Dodge truck from that era is fucking gorgeous (but GM trucks are the natural best ones, and of course the best looking)

I totally agree with you, OP. Back then, when the line between racecars and street-legal cars was blurry as hell...
[tab]This model is from 1970 though -->[/tab]
This thing came out with 425 HP, but I've read that many street racers back then knew their way around the engine, to the point where they would just tweak it a little bit and they were getting 450+ HP, just like that!
SS454 FTW
