That's according to Kyodo News, one of the biggest news agencies in Asia. Speaking in an interview with Ghibli's Toshio Suzuki, Hayao confirmed he is working on a feature film. He announced his retirement in 2012 but it wasn't the first time and in fact some sources say he's "retired" six times. In 2015 he started work on a short animation called Boro the Caterpillar. And in December he suggested that perhaps it should "probably be a full-length movie" according to Kotaku. Newsbeat has contacted Studio Ghibli for a comment, but they are yet to reply.
It's that time of the week again I see. [editline]25th February 2017[/editline] I thought he already came out of retirement a month or two ago for Boro the Caterpillar. Did he retire and unretire since then?
just more proof that once the corruption of anime has gripped your soul there's no escape 2017 and we still don't have a cure :disappoint:
Miyazaki every other month:
Deja vu to years ago for that Porco Rosso sequel that ended up not happening lol. Yeah I'll believe it when I see it. Fingers crossed anyways, tho. Also fuck I saw "Hayao Miyazaki has..." on the front page and was worried it was gonna say died. jeez I'm morbid.
2021: Hayao Miyazaki dies. 2023: Hayao Miyazaki has announced retirement from death to work on a new movie.
Dude is like John Wick except with animation and not murder
Give me something similar to Princess Mononoke, it is by far his best movie in my opinion.
He needs to just accept that, despite his age making him think twice, he still has it in him to continue being a legend until he dies. Not many people can say that.
