If you can't wait 5 minutes for a level to load, then you don't have what it takes to be a good sniper.
i like how theyre acting like 30 second loads for a checkpoint is good
i bet the performance ingame is still p shit as well
heres hoping PC load times aren't as dreadful

These are Sonic '06 loading times, potentially worse, and that's post-patch.
I get that it's an open world game (apparently?) but these games already drummed the bottom of the barrel, and this still isn't really good.
Is that better or worse than Bloodborne?
Is that better or worse than Bloodborne?
5 minutes is way worse than Bloodborne pre-patch.
30 seconds is still worse than Bloodborne post-patch.
Now I remember where this game is from.

It's the guys who didn't know about bullets. :v:
Christ they made a third one? They've all been pretty much garbage and yet here we are. I would have thought they'd have learned by now.

How do you release a trailer and have no one, not a single person go "Uh guys? GUYS"
They are using Cryengine, how come checkpoint loading is so slow when in all Crysis games it was near instant?
They are using Cryengine, how come checkpoint loading is so slow when in all Crysis games it was near instant?
Because the Crysis games were made by competent developers.
(Probably helps that they were the ones who also made the engine though - weren't there issues with documentation with Cryengine?)
Lmao even GTA:O isn't this bad

I was actually trying to think back to some of the worst loading times in my own history.
I think GTA5 had a bad initial load on PS3, but once in your were good.
Even games that do pre-computation of shaders like Elite:dang or Doom don't add this much time to the load. What could even cause this from a gameplay perspective?

Morrowind had some really shit loading times/loading frequency in its day
it worked by cells so you had to load the next cell every so often
of/c on modern hardware it wasn't an issue but holy shit was it annoying back in its time :v:
[editline]24th April 2017[/editline]
that game is ancient now
its amazing that some of todays games, in the dawn of SSDs can have such horrifying load times
I don't know why every time there's a new CI game, people forget how shit they are. All they do is make terrible shooters on no budget and then promote the shit out of them to rake in as much cash as possible.
Scummiest cunts out.

This is an issue in the industry in general
Film/Game industry have a huge issue where marketing costs more than the movie itself

Would this not be true for television as well? I do understand that it's not the same in music or books however.

Really it could be applied to parts of all industries
just look at any product that is trash but has a massive marketing campaign
there are a huge number of marketing scams out there as well but those are its own thing
I'm fucking baffled this series got a third game. Weren't the last two atrocious?
only ok part of this game seems to be the theme

That's not even a good reason. If it's just to reduce fast-travel load times, then they could stream all that content during gameplay. The other two points aren't even half-decent excuses.
I would justify long loading times if the game had a big world, but this game apparently has old gen graphics, shame.
I was actually trying to think back to some of the worst loading times in my own history.
Stuntman on PS2 has six to ten seconds loading time, everytime you restart the mission, which is about every 30 seconds.
Also the loading times of Lego City Undercover on the Wii U were annoying as hell. About 40 to 60 seconds, each time a level is loaded, doesn't matter if it's the big, open world or the tiny police station with it's four rooms.

It would at least explain why most games on the engine are absolute ass.
