Kid Rock on Fox News: 'The European dream is my nightmare'
Detroit singer Kid Rock was invited on Fox News last week to discuss ... well, even he wasn't too clear on why he was in studio with "America Live" anchor Megyn Kelly.
"I have no idea why I'm here," Kid Rock said chuckling as he was introduced to discuss "America's preference for small government."
But the "cowboy crusader" ended up having plenty to say about Kelly's chosen topic.
He started off with some pretty solid statements about what he believes most Americans think about government and politics:
"The way I see it, is everyone is just freaked out and fed up with people being too far left and too far right," Kid said after Kelly showed a poll that said more people in America prefer smaller government.
" .. Most people are in the middle," he continued. "But you get all these politicians who have been eating out of the public trough for year after year ... and you wish they would be in it to do something good for the country, not just to make a career out of it and get reelected."
Kid Rock then dodged a question from Kelly about his own political views ("I'm not that educated in the field of political science") before launching into his thoughts on the economic situation in Detroit and a description of his "nightmare" for America.
"Detroit has so much style — the cars we built," he said. "Not only the cars but the tanks and airplanes we built during the war. Such ingenuity. Cool stuff, '57 Chevys. It came in 17 colors, everyone one of them red, white and blue. But now … it just reminds me of Europe. Everyone's going to be driving a smart car and living in a condo. And that's not the American Dream, and you see that starting to die."
"I have nightmares that I'm going to wake up and everyone's driving a Prius and living in a condo and we're all getting health insurance," he told Kelly.

Here is an excellent comment from someone on Digg:

It is always strange to hear someone say something seriously that you would totally say dripping with sarcasm.
Why drive a fuel efficient car when you can can get 7 miles per gallon so that four saturdays a year you can bring home 2x4s from Home Depot?
Why live in a condo when you can further encroach on the environment to put a family of 4 in an energy sucking 4,000 sq ft house they can enjoy not needing until the bank repossesses it.
Why have health insurance when it is so much more american to die from lung cancer or heart disease before your grandkids can walk?
So nice for stupidity to have a voice in this country. The voice of the majority.

The whole thing is just retarded, of course he has nightmares about living in a condo and driving a Prius, he probably earns loads of money (or at least more than enough to have a few cars and houses).
Also all (or nearly) the things he said just stink of idiocy.

Lol, fail car. Jeff Dunham comes to mind as well.
Nightmares about having good fortune?
This kid is messed up..
I thought most of the Hollywood stars have Priuses, not Europeans. And last time I checked, Hollywood was in USA.
I can honestly say, I have never seen a Prius in person.
I'm sorry but i've grown tired of this whole american view of europe.
When I think Prius, I think California.
He doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about, obviously. I would think that most Americans would disagree with him (except maybe the dumb toothless hillbillies)

I don't disagree with him. I would much rather drive an american made econo car than a foreign car, I'd rather live in a large house that I worked my ass off to afford so that I could accommodate my large family, and I sure as hell would rather be paying my own health insurance than get mediocre insurance through the government and pay for dumb fucks who leach off the system.
Last time I checked I've got a mouth full of teeth and a 2 year degree in Law enforcement working on a 4 year for Criminal Justice.
All the rednecks at my school blast his shitty music in their shitty trucks. What they don't realize is that he from Wisconsin, despite singing many many songs about "the south." (For those who don't live in America, stupid rednecks still hold grudges against people from states in the "north" from the line drawn during the civil war)
What's so bad about health insurances for everyone? It's better than becoming really ill (cancer, accident, AIDS), and it already pays back.
Kid rock the true american hero to fuck the foreigners and their better way of live.

This.
Seriously are the americans actually so retarded that they feel they shouldn't care about those around them, no matter how well off they are, despite the fact the vast majority are christians?
They go against thier own fucking religion whenever it suits them.
Heretical bastards.

Because Europe's view of America is totally justified. We're all fat, we're all jerkasses, we all whack off to our flag we're so zealously patriotic, and none of us know shit about shit.
There is no 'European dream'.
That's because we're awake.

What is European dream? I have never heard of such. Sure, I have heard about American dream, but European dream?
Anyway, I am enjoying my free upper secondary school currently.

European dream = European women?
Just a theory
I thought most of the Hollywood stars have Priuses, not Europeans. And last time I checked, Hollywood was in USA.
I say we cut it off and sell it to Europe
What is this "european dream" y'all talking about? :v:

I'd take any hot-ass russian/romanian girl over an american girl anyday :fappery:
Isn't that what the American dream is? Being able to arrive to America with little money and becoming rich in no time?
Isn't owning a smart car a sign of wealth? Smart cars are expensive due to all the technology they have.
I thought Europeans were popular with Volkswagen, preferred suburb housing, and strive for prosperity just like Americans.
What's so bad about health insurances for everyone? It's better than becoming really ill (cancer, accident, AIDS), and it already pays back.
The majority of Americans hate taxes to damned heck and think universal health care is a giant step towards socialism, despite the fact that universal health care has proven to be economical and efficient by other modernized countries (such as the United Kingdom and Canada). As well there is some "socialism" in America as there is free public education, public libraries, Social Security, and well much of anything operated by the government.
In my opinion there is no European dream, anything that we had dreamed of has been achieved. And we are happy about it.
Because Europe's view of America is totally justified. We're all fat, we're all jerkasses, we all whack off to our flag we're so zealously patriotic, and none of us know shit about shit.
And of course you assume that i'm a european who hates you.
If anything you just proved my point.
whats with the smarmy digg comment about how houses are bad
condos suck dick
His music sucks but I agree.
I personaly think we should all just have a nation wide test about the world, if you fail, you die, unless you prove to be usefull to the community, such as a child, great doctor, scientist, etc...
"European dream"? Why do Americans constantly generalise Europe like it's all one country? We're all very different and all have very different views.
Example: "Me and Martha are doing Europe this year." What the fuck is that supposed to mean? You're going on holiday to the whole of Europe? That's going to take a fucking long time.
