First song - General - Facepunch Forum

I just finished my first song ever, I need some feedback on it from other produces, singers,... I produced the beat and wrote the lyrics. [media]http://soundcloud.com/brahmzz/grover-whizkers-1[/media]

But you have songs from 10 months ago so why say it is your first? :smile:

That beat is way too repetitive.

I thought it was alright, pretty chill for me. I think your singing was pretty good, and the way you brought in backing vocals was pretty nicely made too. I must critisise on the production, though. The kick drum was nice, almost perfect. That melodic clap usually seems like a shit idea, but you executed it pretty well. The synths were pretty well made too. To be honest, I thought it was pretty good, although I kinda dislike this genre, I do think it sounds like you put in alot of effort into it, and that's what I love to see.

Dude your voice is good! I liked it once it got going and the vocal composition with the harmonies was nicely done :D Not so good points for me were: -I didn't like the 'yeah', especially at the beginning. It didn't fit the song for me and that first one faded out and left the song feeling very empty right at the start. -Just generally the intro wasn't holding my interest so well. Perhaps some sort of melodic hook could have been there to give the listener something to chew on before getting to the singing. I'm jealous of your voice though, did you use any pitch correction?

For the auto tune questions I did use auto tune. I like the effect it has on my voice and it fit the genre, not because I can't sing. I do art in school and my singing teacher told me I have a lot of talent so I made a song. Glad most of you like it!

Usually I don't like your music much, but that was actually really good. As far as criticism... i didnt notice anything that has not been mentioned. Keep up the good work!
