From what I heard the reason that the videos have so many views, a comparable like/dislike ratio, and a lack of comments (and many of the comments there are are incomprehensible) is because these videos are watched almost exclusively by low functioning autistic people and very very young children. Why are there so many of them? Because it's insane levels of profitable. You could live in a fucking mansion on the type of ad money this shit brings in, and the videos take next to no effort to make. Hell their profits are probably even higher than their views would indicate since the type of person who'd watch them are more likely to accidentally click on ads.
Pretty sure most of them are still view botted though.

My theory is that Hey Kids is just a parody of actual finger family channels, playing on the old notion that "It's really just an AI making these videos".
Can confirm these are because of autistic kids. A good friend of mine works at an autistic daycare and there are a few kids who LOVE this shit. One of them exclusively loves the finger family videos. Very crazy until they show him it and it calms them. Makes ya think. What do they see in these videos?

No matter what's the subject of the video, or whatever their interest is in said video, it always comes back to the rhythm and easy understanding of the song. It could be a video of MLP, and that's what garners the initial interest, but the rhythm of the song soothes the mind and creates some feeling of nostalgia.
These videos are such a trip for me, I can't help but wonder exactly what throws them together. Is it done by people, manually searching topical media and free art assets to throw these things together for zero dollars? Is it some kind of well-written program that tracks trending topics on social media that's sophisticated enough to be able to tell the difference between a character that could be on the "mother finger" or the "baby finger?" Why is it always Indian people singing the songs? Is there a massive underground Indian "Youtube Autoplay Bait" industry? Are there sweatshops in india where people are paid pennies on the hour to search free 3d assets and google image search to throw these things together. There's a sinister background to the "stuff mom puts on the toddler's iPad to distract them for an hour" video genre and I seriously want to know what it is.

90s kids had ed edd and eddy, dexter laboratory, etc. 10s kids have skeleton helicopter finger families. [sp] I have no idea what 00s kids had forgive me ;_; [/sp]
I seem to remember someone from here stating a retexture of the TF2 Heavy they made and posted on Gamebanana was actually in a video from Toys in Japan, but I can't find the exact video so have Dr. Kleiner instead.

How would such a thing work in practice? Makes sense that these kind of things seem to originate from developing countries, since low cost of living makes monetizing proportionally much more profitable.
Pretty freaky stuff. Is this an ARG of some sort? [editline]2nd June 2016[/editline] It's basically the only explanation I can think of...
my favorite one is hitler

It was said in another thread relating to this stuff.
Possibly the best one:
Someone call SCP, this is clearly some kind of memetic organism reproducing via Youtube.
Its about being in the related videos, my niece is like 4 and when shes on her parents mobile the videos she watches are just those toy review/story ones and when shes finished she just picks randomly from the related videos.
